  I never want to buy cookware again

  I got Fissler for some things & all clad for some things & a few cast iron for other things. And I’m going to get a staub for something else entirely. You *think* fully clad is better but the reality is the pots do completely different things. The newer Fissler are fully clad by the way but they are still insanely heavy & 7 ply. You would never want to make a sauce or a sensitive gravy in them. You’d want a quick acting copper core. The minute you nudge the heat - bam the pan reacts. But insane to try making a chili or an all day stew in tha. Get a nice heat holding 7 ply and call it good. Better yet get yourself a staub or le creuset and toss it from your burner to the oven. And don’t put your shit in the dishwasher. Sheesh.

  Fissler Pure Collection Review

  No - Demeyere pans are made in Belgium. Fissler are made in Germany. Demeyere is also heavy and thick. Like the Pure the handles are also welded making it easier to hold. Basically - people complain most about All-Clad handles. You won’t until you hold a superior handle then you say “yep, I get it”. The top tier for both brands have thick bases & are workhorses whilst the thinner bases heat up more quickly. The pure collection used more recycled metal (for folks concerned w sustainability) & updated the look, made the handles easier & more comfy to use & are considerably lighter than the original ones. Tramontina - made in Brazil or china & folks say quality changes depending on where Other notable pans are Hestan - made in Italy. All-Clad made In USA - unless you have the copper or the cheaper 3 clad you have to wait the same to watch it heat up. The quality is about the same but the loyalty is that people like what they like. Most folks use a mix of every thing. You’ll find All Clad or Viking on sale here more.   I am old and firm believer in buy once, cry once. What are you looking for and where do you live and what are you looking for? Bare in mind that exceptional products do not need to advertise. Advertising costs money. In this thread, today, I found that Fissler is considered BIFL, I had no idea but came to the same conclusion after testing heaps of pans and pressure cookers. The island I lived on had Fissler and eventually I tried it and it is BIFL. Ask specific questions and get specific answers. Be aware of AI trawling.

  A stainless steel skillet or stock pan and a pot for an induction cooktop

  Demeyere Atlantis or Fissler Original Profi would represent the best BIFL option for the stated job. These were really designed around induction and their performance is reflective of this.

  Fissler Pure Collection Review

  They are not related, but Fissler is comparable to Demeyere in terms of quality, and the flagship stainless lines of each company (Original Profi and Atlantis) arguably represents the best stainless cookware you can buy, and arguably by and far the best cookware for use with induction, offering significant advantages over a traditional 3-ply construction. Design-wise, they use very different design philosophies on their flagship cookware.

  What are some actual BIFL kitchen items?

  A pressure cooker that's not electric. One that goes on the stove. I'm a fan of Fissler. The o-rings and seals are not for life, but they cost pennies next to buying a new pressure cooker every few years.

  Fissler is Made in germany and the quality is WMF maybe, I think it is not what it used to be and only the top-level stuff is Made in Germany. My mother has a WMF pan that carries the "West-Germany" label, (pre 1990) that works without issues still.

  Oooh my pots are from Fissler actually! They were a gift from my mom tho, and she uuuusually tends to cheap out on things so I didn't trust it xD Good to know she actually gave me smth nice for once!

  What’s a kitchen item you bought once and never had to replace?

  Fissler original profi pans. Used them for 11 years on a gas range and switched to induction three years ago. Still looking good. They will outlast me I’m sure.

  1) What I bought in my lifetime: Kelomat Riess Fissler WMF Tefal and one small noname-pot I got 1996 which still is in perfectly fine condition 2) What I inherited from my grandmas or tricked my aunt to give them to me\* (you cannot buy those brands new nowadays as the companies either don't exist anymore or at least don't produce cookware) Austria Email Alpine Emil Neher Metallwarenfabrik \*One day I saw some very old enamel pots in my aunt's garage meaning she did not use them for cooking and it turned out they were just waiting to be dumped. As I knew my aunt she would never have given that "old crap" to me if she had known I wanted them for my kitchen. Therefore I asked, if I could have them as outer pots for plants. No regrets. It was so lovely to finally have some really big pots (money was very sparse back then) and I also love the history they brought. Guess it's easy to spot from which country I am. :D
