What’s the BIFL item that you love but everyone around you thinks is ridiculous?
My Flobee vacuum hair cutting system is exactly this. After 15 years it still cut great, despite needing to wear earplugs to cut my hair. I only retired it because hair loss made it so I don't need to have hair several inches long anymore. EVERYONE thought it was ridiculous, especially my partners (yes it lasted through multiple relationships).

My dad has one at home and it has been used A LOT. Both of my brothers grew up with flowbee haircuts and they still make a point to pull it out when they visit home to “get a trim”. I’ve even used it for my pixie cut and it’s great 😅

I never should have gotten rid of mine. I probably used it for 15 years and it was still performing perfectly. Moved abroad and switched to clippers for portability, but will never forget the Flowbee.
