Winter jacket recommendation
Private white v.c. frobisher 2.0. is it's a beast for any winter. It's a bit dressy, and longer than most but not too long and it can be cinched down at the waist. Insane attention to detail. Ridiculous quality. Second, free note cloth mariners heavy jacket. It's also a beast and will last a lifetime as well. Both are pricey but both are essentially buying it for life pieces.

BIFL - Best products from the USA
There are great makers of lots of items from the US. The problem is, most people don't want to buy something that costs what is does because the people making them are paid a living wage. Even on here, every time I see someone ask for "moderately priced", I assume that they mean "just barely more expensive than Temu". Things I use every day that are made in the US: Dehen sweaters and jackets Freenote Cloth flannels and pants We still have a few decent furniture manufacturers (My house has King Hickory, England, Oak for Less, and some Amish made furniture) All-clad cookware

Flannel shirts that last
Most of my flannels are Freenote Cloth and are fantastic. They are pricey, so I only pick up ones in the "Last Chance"/prior season closeouts. The Benson Flannels are very thick and well made (all of them are, but their Bensons are a cut above). I love them, but recently moved to the mid-south and probably won't be wearing them as much as I used to when I lived in New England. Their other flannels are thinner and I will be wearing them much of the year. I was gifted a Iron Heart UHF for my 40th birthday. It is phenomenal, better made than any top I have ever encountered and I am sure will stay with me for the rest of my life. I would pick up some more of them if they were not hedonistically expensive.
