  What is the equivalent of "Apple removed 3.5mm jack" of your favorite products ?

  I don't know what you're talking about- I had my music collection, photos, videos abs other large files on the SD cards of multiple phones, and it was a great way of freeing up the system storage. I also had a case where my early Galaxy crashed and was unrecoverable. If it wasn't for the fact that my photos were saving to the SD I would have lost them all (or it would have been an expensive and likely fruitless recovery process to try to get them back).

  Most any brand is going to be fine. Just stay away from the cheap versions. For instance, don't get the pixel (a) get the pixel Don't get the Galaxy FE version get the regular or the plus.

  What brands did you used to love but now hate because of enshittification?

  My wife had a Fitbit and it fell apart. We both have galaxy watches and they're really nice. I wear mine in harsh environments and it doesn't seem to mind the abuse.

  The Motorola phones are my favorite as far as just being tough. But I've been using a galaxy since my daughter was born for the better cameras and they've been pretty great... outside of the curved screen edge, fuck that noise.

  I'm surprised by your pixel experience, I'm on a 7pro and it's one of the few phones I've ever had that still works like day one after a lot of use. Fairphone have a lot of serviceable parts, plus 5 year guarantee and 8 years software support, but their specs are definitely not flagship level IMO so there is a trade-off there. If you want flagship hardware I'd go something like Galaxy S24FE. Security updates until October 2031, and the fan editions are the handsets Samsung make with all the hardware and firmware kinks worked out.

  4 years should be easily achievable. My current phone (iphone 11 pro) is 5.5 years old, first battery. The one beforehand (Galaxy S8) survived ~6 years (2 batteries). I never had one less than 4 years…

  A fan that makes great white noise

  Vintage McGraw-Edison and Galaxy are also great options. I just got the blue McGraw-Edison. It is 3 speed 5 way just like the Panasonic. In it’s 40 year old state it is working better than any newer fan I have had in the past couple of decades.

  [Advice Needed] First tablet for college - ₹96,000 (~$1,150) budget

  They're both great. I have an iPad mostly for music - I teach fitness classes and a couple of the apps that are my workhorses work better or are only available on iOS. Otherwise I use the Galaxy, because my laptop is Windows and my phone and watch are Galaxy and things play better when they're all in the same universe. I prefer Android in general, that operating system makes more sense to my brain.

  Honestly you've got your pick, it really just comes down to if you want an iPad or a Galaxy. Well, I guess the Surface is popular enough to get a mention. I'd say it comes down to what operating system you want, and how seamless you want it to integrate. There are still some apps that are OS specific, or function best on a given OS. Your school may have one they recommend. Chances are any tablet made in the last few years will be just fine 2020-2025 had less changes than 2015-2020 did.

  Does that cost include case and stylus? I think you can't go wrong with either an iPad or a Galaxy tab. I have both, and they are still going strong at 8 and 7 years. I did get a nice case with built in keyboard that has a mouse pad for the iPad, which vastly improved the usability.

  Got a long day of travel and desperately need some earbuds with really good battery life and are very comfortable to wear for long periods at a time

  I've had two different generations of Galaxy Buds (the Buds+ and then the Buds 2) and both have been incredibly comfortable I wear both for entire shifts at work and they are wonderful. The buds 2 have a slightly shorter better life (but better all around) but they charge up a lot faster from the case than the older style
