Hose that last outdoor
Eley or the soft Gardena ones, otherwise probably the Continental ones. None of them are fussy but they’re all excellent. They’re still better off “away” but these all take different kinds of beatings way better than the competition. Having UV shade for your hose is the biggest thing imo.

Ditto! I am upgrading everything that has to do mit Gartenwasser to Gardena. Like throwing away sprinklers, hoses, connectors, timers regularly and buying the more expensive equivalent to replace the broken one. They are NOT more expensive in the end, I haven‘t thrown away a single Gardena item in the last 4 years I started using them.

what’s the BIFL version of a garden hose nozzle?
I have no trouble with Gardena stuff (Dutch) Been several years since I purchased their hose/fittings/nozzle. Recently bought another set for the front of the house and seems just as good. I have their garden tools and a fantastic sprayer.
