Tragedy of the Honest in a capitalistic economic system
I've been using the Glasslock oven safe containers for a little over three years now. Borosilicate, made in Korea. Haven't broken or chipped one yet. I'm sure there are other picks that have a better solution to the lid problem tho, as these are just a basic plastic with a silicone gasket. Pretty leak proof at least

I really like the Glasslock/Members Mark ones from Sam's Club. Just bought 2 backup sets after 5 years going strong on the first.

I purchased my Glasslock set in 2015 and they’re still going strong. I mostly hand wash the lids and don’t microwave them. Sometimes I’ll use the dishwasher for the lids if they’re especially dirty.

I've gad Glasslock for probably 10 years. Love them, my only gripe is the price right now. I went to double my square and rectangle set from 4 to 8 each. Zomg. Also, I replaced 1 lid when my dog destroyed the flap. Was like $10 shipping and I got a few. Finally, I always wash my lids on the bottom, seal in. Never have an issue. Once in a while I'll remove the seals but I've never seen a real need to, if I'm honest.

We've had our Glasslock for almost 10y and they are used heavily. We never go straight from oven to freezer, we usually let things cool for 20 minutes or so. The gaskets are hard to remove, but it is possible. We've got all different sizes, but the bigger square, rectangle, and round ones stack nicely. The rectangle get the most use. We have large rectangular Pyrex too. My husband likes them more than me, but they are handy for leftover pizza slices.

I have a set of 16 Glasslock, four Pyrex, and two OXO containers. We don't microwave any of the lids, so I can't speak to that, but we microwave the containers themselves. The Pyrex are the weakest of the bunch, to be honest. The containers are fine for thermal shock, and they nest (we have round ones) but they're nowhere near a tight enough seal for lunches, and the lids warp easily in the dishwasher. The OXO are our favorites. Big cushy gasket that's easy to remove and wash, sturdy containers, super tight seal, easy locking. We only have the really big ones in this size but if I were buying new ones I'd buy more of this brand. Con: I accidentally punctured a gasket on one, which is always a risk, and it was impossible to buy just a replacement gasket. I had to buy a whole new container. The Glasslock are a very solid option. They stack nicely for storage, I haven't broken one in 4-5 years, and they have a very solid seal. We regularly microwave them straight from the fridge, and sometimes we put them in the oven as well, and have had no issues. The only cons I have are a little nitpicky: the gaskets are thin (although they do the job well) and hard to get out, so it's easy to accidentally damage them when prying them out. Also, if you get any food on the gasket or rim, you have to fully wipe the whole gasket track or else some of the food might squish onto the outside when you open it. It's not a leak, but it's something to be careful of. Very minor annoyance, though, and they have worked great for us as our main storage set. Finally, the ears can be hard to lock down and require a shocking amount of grip strength if the lid isn't perfectly aligned. Both the OXO and the Glasslock can be dishwashed, and we regularly do, but we remove all gaskets before dishwashing and hand wash those. Lids go in the top rack of the dishwasher only and have yet to show any signs of aging. We will also frequently handwash the lids and gaskets, so they don't exclusively go in the dishwasher. If you're asking for a gasket that "won't get gross" without being removed from the lid for washing, I have no idea where to point you. The OXO ones are far and away the easiest to remove and reinstall the gasket, though.

I would like to know which BIFL purchase has saved you the most money or hassle over time?
Just make sure they are stacking for easy storage. Most of ours are almost 15 yrs old and only one or two have chipped, none broken. Glasslock is good

Food Storage Containers
Glasslock or OXO Smart Seal have held up best for me. The lids actually stay tight after years and they don’t stain or warp like plastic. I’d skip stoneware since it’s too heavy and chips easily compared to tempered glass.

Food Storage Containers
I switched to Glasslock containers a few years ago and honestly they’ve held up great. Totally microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe. The seals are still tight and no weird smells. Way sturdier than the cheap plastic ones.

Food Storage Containers
I recently picked up a Glasslock set from Costco when they had a sale, and I like them even more than my old Pyrex because the lids are super sturdy and actually leak-proof.

Pyrex/anchor chipping after 7-8 years is normal. just get more pyrex or glasslock from costco glasslock seals are better. stoneware storage isn't really a thing, stick with glass

Glasslock Container Set replace Moldy Gaskets
https://glasslockusa.com/faq/ They'll give 4 free replacement lids at a time. You can get 2 squares and 2 rectangles per order. You have to pay shipping. They do not offer gaskets. I'm considering doing this, but ultimately, I am gravitating towards phasing out kitchens supplies that have multiple components in favor of simpler ones. My adhd brain wants to take everything apart and I want to limit that going forward😅

Glasslock Container Set replace Moldy Gaskets
I just scored a bunch of Snapware and one Glasslock. If you tried soaking, brush, etc, and it won't clean, try a hand sprayer or Waterpic. You can buy replacement lids from Snapware, have you checked Glasslock?

Is there a glass or no bpa plastic version of this take out container
Both can be good choices, but you may wanna check out other options like the glasslock containers, which I prefer.

Recommendations for glass food storage and knife set please
I wouldn't buy a knife set, but only what you need. I have a chef's knife, carving knife, bread knife and serrated paring knife. The chef and serrated knife are my daily drivers. I've had Glasslock Snapware food storage for years and think it's great.
