What BIFL mistakes have you made?
I have a Goody hairbrush I bought for cheap in a supermarket in 1992. It still does it's job well.

Best corporate gifting platform for durable, long lasting employee gifts?
I'm an EA. At every company i work for i end up getting tasked with the team gifts, so I've used a few different corporate gifting platforms for swag like this. Goody and Snappy are definitely my favorites. They work in similar ways. The swag is flexible, so the person who's receiving it gets an email and then chooses their preferred option. So you could give them a choice of a Yeti, a north face jacket or even something more unique like a pickleball set. Then the item is printed/shipped to order when someone accepts it. They even set their own size and mailing address. I find it's so much less wasteful this way. Anyone who thinks you can choose one item that everyone at your company will love and cherish is a little delusional IMO. Between those two platforms, Goody definitely wins out because they have higher quality items. But both of them are great options and better than the traditional way that companies send swag.

Something you didn’t expect to be BIFL but outlasted your expectations?
I have a comb from goody that my mom bought some years before I was born. It's probably around 30 years old (I am 23). It's my favorite comb and I have searched high and low for a similar one but I can't one that is similar. It went with me to every summer camp, every vacation, and now is with me at college. It is my favorite comb and I imagine one day my future daughter's daughter will use it and it will be in just as good condition.

What is your most unintentional BIFL item?
I bought a Goody wide-tooth comb for my long curly hair when I was 17. It has traveled to many countries with me and it used after every shower. I am now 48.

Circa 1998 Goody Comb
I have really long and thick hair, plastic combs tend to break easily. I feel like the plastic made from a long time ago is much stronger and more durable. My grandmother passed away recently and I inherited this big green plastic comb, it's been working great!
