What's everyone's go-to sneaker?
the sneakers i'll suggest won't be cheap but they're designed to be resoled. look up koio, becket simonon, oliver cabell, goral, crown northhampton they're expensive but they're the best ones. if you want something cheaper that's more or less like those but on the budget, thursday boots has sneakers like those. but they're not on par with the ones above mentioned. they're great value for what they are tho. repairable. the leather quality isn't quite on par, except for limited editions and the waxed cacao. i've forgotten some other brands to mention but the ones i remembered are the best ones. these are more of a lifestyle / fashion sneaker designed to be resoled and not athletic type sneakers.

What's everyone's go-to sneaker?
Goral Mellor II. Not an athletic sneaker, but it’s leather and can be resoled. Pretty comfy too once broken in

Best Performance Lifestyle shoes?
Check out Goral. I have their collaboration with Rose Anvil, SMUGS, and these are good! Very comfortable and durable.

Best re-sole-able sneakers?
Thanks so much for picking up the SMUGS and especially in that Forest Green Horween, great choice! You're spot on: the leather is seriously thick. We chose Horween Chromexcel for its durability, character, and ability to age beautifully, it’s actually boot-grade leather, which is why it feels more substantial than what you’d typically find on sneakers. That said, we totally get that it can feel stiff around the ankle at first, especially on a high-top. Because Chromexcel is a pull-up leather with a lot of natural oils and waxes, it does soften up considerably with wear. A few wears around the house, or even just giving the ankle area a gentle flex by hand, can help speed up the break-in. We opted to go unlined to reduce bulk and improve breathability, but your point about padding is valid, and we really appreciate that kind of feedback. Hope they mold to your feet soon and become a long-term favourite, and if you ever need care tips or a future resole, we’ve got you covered. 🙌 The GORAL Team

How are the mighty fallen
Solovairs used to produce Doc Martens for the company before their initial move out of the UK. They retained all the machinery and just change the colour of the stitching because Docs had the yellow stitch trademarked. They're basically the original docs. Goral also make a military style boot called the Sharman that I like but it's a normal sole not the rubber/air thing.

Looking for quality durable shoes
Do you know the Youtube channel of Rose Anvil? It is a great learning tool for boot and shoe knowledge. I bought one of his colab shoes called the SMUGS (by Goral), and this is stylish enough to wear to my office job, but very durable and comfortable.
