What frying pans are we buying? Tired of nonstick pans that only last 6 months.
For stuff where I really need a non-stick skillet like tofu and eggs, I currently have a granitestone pan. Before that I had the tramontina that lasted like 3 years.

I can actually recommend the Granitestone brand for pans. Likely won't last as long as cast iron BUT they will be a lot less maintenance and still last a very long time. Context: I originally got a set of them in March of 2023 based on the "Freakin Reviews" YouTube channel. 2 years later and they still look and function like new. They are all metal and stone, so they are oven safe. Reasonably non-stick but don't have a coating. Safe to use with metal utensils. (Most of mine are plastic/rubber, but I have used metal whisks on many occasions and they haven't left even a faint scratch)

Lifelong nonstick pans - do they exist?
No, they don’t exist. Granitestone is generally regarded as the best one, but still needs to be replaced every 5 years.

Lifelong nonstick pans - do they exist?
We primarily use cast iron here BUT I did buy a Granitestone brand off Amazon and it's going on 3 years without any issue. I think the trick to these non-sticks is simply to adhere to the temperatures the manufacturer has stated and also if you are going to lubricate the pan, again follow manufacturer's recommendations.

So is there really no non-stick pan that is safe to use as long as it isn’t chipped?
Granitestone was very highly reviewed by ProjectFarm Its obviously way too soon to call it BIFL, but I got a set on Christmas, have been using them regularly, and they don't have so much as a scratch yet.
