  Dude the nail clippers... So I heard about green bell and I went to Japan and saw a bunch. I ended up buying one for like 15 or 20 bucks. At first I thought it was stupid but then I used them...my God. Best I've ever used and I recommend them to everyone

  My 225$ Ernest Wright Kitchen Scissors. Hand paired, hand adjusted, familly business. Love them. There a couple in fact. My 450$ Zojirushi Induction Rice cooker. My 40$ Greenbell NailClipper My 600$ Japaneses Knives, Made in a MultiGenerational Family-Owned Forge in Hakata. Everything I Purchase.... I've been in BIFL reddit for many years now, It's expensive but totally worth it ! (':

  Best Quality of life gift ideas under $150

  Green Bell and Seki Edge are great. They are like $20 in the US. In Japan they are like $7 and by far the best nail clippers I’ve ever used. Maybe $50 are better. But don’t sleep on those.

  Nail clippers recommendation?

  For anyone looking later - I ordered the Harperton and Green Bell on Amazon. The Harperton are really well made and would have been the best nail clippers I'd ever used... Until I tried the Green Bell. It's a night and day difference made really obvious by the sound. When you need to put a lot of pressure on nail clippers they have that signature clipping noise. I think most people will recognize how hard they had to push affects the noise. The Harperton still have the distinctive clink, but the Green Bell are far more muted. They are sharper and don't need as much pressure to cut. I can speak for longevity, but the Harperton are going in the car for emergencies.   These are the functional things I enjoy buying from Japan: \- nail clippers: KAI or Green Bell brand are good and easily found \- kitchen knives: so many different brands but Tojiro and Seki Magoroku are good value for money \- scissors: I'm partial to Silky brand \- the flat clinch staplers: either Max or Kokuyo brand

  Just received my end game nail clipper, Green bell G-1305

  Green Bell is amazing. I've had a clipper from them that I've used for over 15 years. Nail file and clippers still are in perfect condition.

  not doubting you or whatever but if you just buy a kai or green bell nail clipper (both of them are japanese) you’ll be set for life and won’t spend 80 bucks.

  I’ve kept a traditional clipper around solely for edges when needed, but for the main part of the nail there’s no competition. The cut is so clean and smooth, simply effortless.

  My husband and I went to Japan last year and we bought a set of Green Bells for all of our family members. They all are amazed by them. It’s odd to gift nail clippers as a souvenir… but even more odd to get such excited texts from family about them! they really are great!
