Men’s pouch underwear that survives gym + running + hiking?
Gotta kill the bacteria dude, definitely warm wash under wear. I'd rather a clean rough washed and worn pair then a pair that's not clean I use the performance Hanes, comfy and great for an active life style. Underwear is not BIFL, with that said, I have 10 year old Hanes that have been warm and hot washed in the washing machine with no holes or degradation in the elastic band

Looking for women’s boxer briefs that aren’t Woxer
Woxer is good but way too expensive. I've had decent luck with cheaper amazon brands like wirarpa and even basic hanes boxer style. Some men's boxer briefs honestly work just as well for a lot less.

Reasonably priced natural fiber clothing
Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, Jockey. All the Walmart classics have 100% cotton clothing. Found some decent stuff at Target and Old Navy too!

Updated list of BIFL men underwear in Amazon
For cotton options, I like Fruit of the Loom and Hanes Premium (the thicker cotton ones). They’re basic but durable and usually available up to XL on Amazon. I also stumbled on Real Men modal boxer briefs recently. The modal fabric feels way softer than cotton and holds its shape better over time. If your boyfriend likes a snug but not tight fit, they might be worth a try alongside the cotton ones.

Updated list of BIFL men underwear in Amazon
Hanes ComfortSoft Beefy and Jockey Combed Cotton Classics are usually the safest place to start if you want something durable and easy to find on Amazon, especially when you need larger sizes. Most failures come from weak fabric blends or waistbands that tire out far too fast. If you want something that lasts, look for long staple or combed cotton since shorter fibres wear thin surprisingly quickly. A bit more fabric weight helps as well, somewhere around 180 to 200 gsm feels solid without being bulky... the super light stuff breaks down before you realise it. Waistbands do better with a plush or brushed backing because bare elastic against the skin loses its elasiticity as it dries and cracks. For bigger sizes, pick brands that actually scale their patterns. Some labels just stretch the usual cut and the result is a waistband that strains, stitching that gives way and a shape that never feels right and it keeps getting worse because nothing was designed for that fit Skip anything marketed as high spandex comfort, the blends sag early and the elasticity fails well before the cotton does.

This is it for me. I do like the sock but im sure i could find plenty that are just fine. I do however burn holes in every sock I have ever owed so the warranty is HUGE for me. Id probs just buy Hanes or whatever 2x a year if I didnt discover darn tough. It is a pain in the but tho...

undershirts for long torsos
If you want 100% cotton V neck undershirts that actually stay tucked on your frame, check out Hanes comfortsoft, Fruit of the Loom, or Goodthreads’ long-length cuts on Amazon. All are longer than standard nauticas and solve the constant untucking issue, just make sure whatever you buy is specifically labeled “tall” or “long body,” because that’s the real game changer for long torsos.

Bombas Replacement Policy: the fine print
If u like how they wear and fit, Hanes Absolute socks with a tab are the athletic sock dupe of Bombas. They are amazing, I wear them almost every day out in the elements on trail runs and hold up great. Even if they get holes they’re like $8 for a pack.

Is there anything you're convinced is "the cheaper the better"?
I'm a Hanes guy. I usually buy during big sales where you get like two 5 packs for $20. I'm probably 6 years removed from my last purchase and no losses other than perhaps a random pair inside the arm of a sweater in the closet. When people ask about BIFL underwear, I'm like what is wrong with you...

Is there anything you're convinced is "the cheaper the better"?
Cheap, but known name brand, socks like Hanes. Bombas get holes just as easily as Hanes do, and they also get lost just as easily too. Once you lose them, you can’t take advantage of the replacement policy, and it’s a hassle anyway. Just get cheap 10 packs of Hanes. I actually don’t like how socks like Bombas constrain my feet anyway.

Is there anything you're convinced is "the cheaper the better"?
This might be unpopular but the OG men’s underwear brands like Hanes and FTL are pretty damn good. FTL still makes a lot of their underwear in Central America (good quality), whereas higher-end brands mostly manufacture in Asia

Best plain white tee?
i am a sucker for a hanes beefy t if i’m being honest. i have one from buck mason and from wonder looper and yet i still find myself grabbing those in the regular rotation. $12 for a 2-pack can’t be beat either

Best basic tees that actually last?
If you want something that actually lasts, go for heavier-weight cotton. Uniqlo U (not the regular Uniqlo tees) are solid, dense, don’t twist after washing, and survive a stupid amount of cycles. If you want even better: Hanes Beefy-T or Gildan Hammer. Not fancy, but they’re tanks. Longevity is mostly fabric weight + how you wash (cold wash, low heat dry).

Men’s underwear that actually lasts does it exist?
Hanes makes better Saxx than Saxx now that the patent expired. They're a fraction of the price and better fabric because Saxx is cutting costs and prioritizing profits. 2025 Saxx will fall apart 10x faster than 2010 Saxx.

Men’s underwear that actually lasts does it exist?
Saxx was good. Their patent on the pouch expired. They switched fabric and manufacturing facilities. They overcharge for garbage quality now. Hanes now makes identical pouch boxer briefs to the original, higher quality Saxx for a fraction of the price. Switch to Hanes and tell Saxx to get fucked for tanking their quality and charging ridiculous prices for a worse product than Hanes. ******If you are in Canada, buy Manmade. They are the best boxer briefs on the planet. I threw twenty pairs of Saxx in the garbage the week I bought Manmade boxer briefs.

Men’s underwear that actually lasts does it exist?
I always buy a size up for my boxers. Nothing fancy, just cheap Hanes. They last forever. I don't wear out the elastic because I'm not stretching it that much. They don't get rips because they're not tight at all no matter what I'm doing

I have a good amount of underwear actually and they're nothing fancy. Just hanes/fruit of the loom/costco. The older ones are literally over a decade old. Most look and feel basically like new. I also air dry.. was told that helps?

Didn't do this on purpose but is this why my underwear lasts? I've had the same underwear for like a decade.... Just some hanes/fruit of the loom. Got a few from costco 2-3 years ago which are completely fine as well.

Men’s underwear that actually lasts does it exist?
I had exactly one pair of underwear last 10 years. It was $50 from Abercrombie and Fitch and I thought chicks would dig designer underwear better. They probably did, I never asked. It got “old looking” even though it never actually wore thin or misshapen or the elastic wearing out. Lots of piles, threw them out before pile shavers were knowledge I had gained. Then I tried a bunch. Exoffico, Duluth, MeUndies, probably more. But now I’m back to value pack Hanes boxers. The material is so thin straight out the pack it’s basically like wearing nothing, the value packs are cheap enough to where the cost is unnoticeable, my current pack is probably 2-3 years old and I do socks and underwear on hot weekly. (I like darn tough socks though, same amount of time and I’m about to make my first warranty claim if the spot would ever actually make a hole) But Hanes are good enough for me. I strongly advise to not go down underwear rabbit holes now.

I found that for me, the key to everlasting socks is to get 24-36 pairs. Rotate them in the drawer. I haven't needed to buy socks in over a decade with my Hanes and avia socks. I hate owning a drawer of socks, but if that I the infinite sock glitch, I'm ok with it.

Depending on the shirt’s intended use, I buy my partner either Hanes Beefy or Comfort for his basic T-shirts. I can’t speak for designer or store brands that may be $35-50. He’s very tall and wears an XLT. I’ve recently purchased him a batch of t-shirts and various types of pants and jeans from Duluth Trading. They all feel like they’ll hold up over time.

Is T-shirt making a lost art?
I think it's the mid-range ones that most suffer from this. Usually my cheapo Hanes tees will keep a nice flat collar, but the fashion or athletic tees in the $20-$70 range all get this wrinkly collar problem after the first wash. I wash in cold water and air dry but it doesn't help.

The Darn Tough of boxer briefs?
I swear by Hanes X-Temp Total Support Pouch Men's Long Leg Boxer Briefs, I'm outside in the summer in Florida and these things are fantastic. Pouch to keep things separated and the fabric is breathable but can still take your thighs rubbing together for miles. Hiking, gym, water, etc, nothing beats them. May not be BIFL but I maybe have to toss a pair due to wear every 4-5 years.

Half of my darn tough socks have holes in them
I don’t understand how people are getting years out of socks. Unless they aren’t actually wearing them everyday like most of us do. I buy a 12 pack of Haynes socks maybe every 1 to 2 years. These socks get wore everyday day no matter what. They wear out on the heel and ball of my foot from being walked in. In boots while working. I really want to buy a pair and do a test to see how long they actually last with daily wear against cheap Haynes socks and post the results. But I find it hard to spend 25 plus dollars on one pair of socks. Lifetime warranty or no.

Is this normal for brand-new Bombas?
I had a pair of darn tough that got a hole after a few wears. The thought of going online, making a warranty claim, and paying shipping for one pair of socks was absurd to me. So I tossed them. I’m sticking with normal store brands, mostly Hanes. They are wear items. Even if you buy darn toughs, they will be wear items, and to get your moneys worth you’ll need to ship socks and pay for shipping on socks. The whole arrangement is absurd to me.

Get Hanes beefy shirt, solid color, I prefer black ones that are made of 100% Cotton. Other colors sometimes use elastic materials. They are sub 10 dollars on Amazon. Not buy it for life but I have ones from 5 years ago, they still feel like new. Wrangler jeans are pretty good, often enough they are 50% of the cost of Levi's. For polos, shirt, and pants. I recommend find a friend to take you to Costco. Their garments are amazing with cost to quality ratio.

Learn to spot quality. Go shopping and look - do not buy, look- at the quality clothing brands that you have identified. Feel them, look at the construction quality, get a good feel for it. Now, when you go shopping, learn how to spot that quality. Learn how to determine what less expensive clothing has that quality to it. For example, a Hanyes Beefy T is about the same price as a regular T. But it is much more durable. Also, as others have mentioned - shop used, and shop the sales, the clearance rack, and the outlet stores. You can get good brands less expensive if you learn how to shop and don’t mind being a season or two behind. And remember, timeless and eternal and iconic. Not this season’s trend, but this decade’s.
