  Help me choose a good, simple and long lasting belt for 80-70 dollars or less!

  I get the hesitation about Hanks price, but I seriously think for ~1.5x your budget it will last 5x as long as any of these. They just had a sale on a few days ago and I assume will have another around Black Friday, so if you can stretch to 100 USD I’d wait for that

  Bullhide Belts, Beltman, Hank’s, and Gingerich all make lifetime belts. You get what you pay for. Make sure any leather belt you buy is full grain or top grain. If it says “genuine leather”, it’s leftover splits (the thin suede bottom layer of hide) with a platic coating.

  Hank's has a 100 year warranty so you will at least have that belt until... Ya know. I've got 2. One brown. Then bought a black for a wedding. Rotate them every day. Just oiled them up for the first time in a few years. Like new again. I work outside. Sweat alot. Often carry a holster. Great belts 🤷‍♂️

  Hank's. Always Hank's. Bonus if you can buy during their blem sale. I bought four on sale for like $90 total and will **always** stan Hank's. I never need to buy another belt if I don't want to. The worst blem was a couple small chips on the buckle that nail polish easily fixed. I think there were a couple small blems in the leather but nothing worth noting. One had nothing at all I could find.

  Filson or Nick’s for me have been excellent. I have a Hank’s and a Relentless Tactical for carry and those are both excellent as well but a bit much without the gun.

  BIFL -Leather belt ??

  Love my Hank's belt. I had bought a cheapo belt from Amazon a few years ago that have breaks/creases within literally 3-4 wears. This sent me down a rabbit hole and I ended up with Hank's. Top grain/full grain leather is what you should really look for — "genuine" leather, despite how the name sounds, is bad leather. Just remember to condition the belt periodically. Takes no time at all, restores the look the leather, and prolongs its lifespan.

  Bellroy wallet after ~10 years

  It’s belts that really need to be compared when it comes to long lasting leather. I had a full grain triple stitched leather belt from LL bean that outlasted every other belt I had and only got better with age until my dog found it and chewed through it. They don’t even make any of the heavy duty ones like that anymore at LL bean. So I ended up with Hank’s as a replacement and it’s more expensive but has a 100 year warranty.
