Are john boos cutting board still worth it?
I'm not just cutting on a random piece of rubber. noTrax was my go to, but they've stopped production, so Japanese brands like Hasegawa or Asahi are probably my preferred vendors now. noTrax was EU REACH compliant, I'm not really familiar with Japanese certifications but both Hasegawa and Asahi claim to be lead-free.

Ehhh Ford and GM had a lot of issues with quality control then, and It was kind of a dice roll whether you get one that would fall apart within 50,000 miles or one that lasts forever with little in-between. The parts could be rock solid, but if, say, the machinist who was doing the tooling work was sloppy at work.... maybe the heads from that week all fail prematurely. The real BIFL car was the Volkswagen type 1 and type 2. The bug and the bus frequently hit over 1 million miles with an air cooled engine. The bug was manufactured up until 2003, you can still get ones in great condition and parts are comparatively cheap and widely available. Source 20+ years as a mechanic. Still work in the industry.
