That said, I have a Conair Thinnerscale MS-7M that I got like in the late 80s or early 90s. I have yet to replace the 3v CR2032 battery that it came with. I don't even know *how*, and I lost the manual. Still works. Thing is you can't get one they don't make them anymore.   I had a fancy weight/bmi tracking healthometer one for about 15 years, one of the metal plates came unglued and some wires got messed up so I just pitched it last week. I got an old school mechanical one last weekend at walmart for like 10 bucks. Seems to be off by a few pounds (can't do reliable side by side though) and you do need to "calibrate" it to 0 but who really cares unless you need exact. 5 lbs is 5lbs when you are losing gaining, from whereever you start.
