Thursday boot company…any good?
They are junk. I bought a pair of President boots and had to take them to a cobbler 3 months later because the sole crumbled apart and the cork layer wore down. The cobbler had to rebuild the heel and replace the sole costing me $130. They weren't very comfortable either. Even after rebuilding the heel and replacing the heel, the boots still have an odd feeling with walking on them due to the cork having been rebuilt on one side of the heel. It must be a slight difference in hardness or something, because it's like the right side of the heel compresses down more then the left side. This was after 3 months of LIGHT use. I certainly never took them hiking in mud or anything else like they show in their advertisements. Also, these boots aren't gusseted, so if wearing them even in a light rain, the water gets funneled right into your sock. I have a pair of Danner jacks that I bought probably ten years ago and are holding up way better. If you are looking for an equivalent, take a look at them. More pricey, but they have better warranties, are much more comfortable, and I have yet to need to get them resoled. Another option are Helm boots. Pricing is about the same as Thursday, with similar styling and are more comfortable. I've been really happy with both Danner and Helm.
