Shoes for standing/walking?
Hokas are the move, I think. I worked in a grocery store during Covid, and have flat feet. 1. Find out your pronation. (basically, the way your foot contacts the ground when moving). Most people have neutral, but if you have flat feet, it's usually over-pronation. If you overpronate, get the Hoka Arahi. The number/generation doesn't really matter. Just get the color you like. Older models are usually on sale. If you have neutral, you want the Cliftons, like someone else here mentioned. If you are quite tall, or heavier, get the Bondi (more cushion in the soles. These are the only 3 models, in my opinion, and are by far the most popular. side note: If your heels are still bothering you, you might want stiffer insoles. I know it sounds **counterintuitive**, but the rigidness holds your feet so you don't stand on your heels. The green "Superfeet" brand worked the best for me, and they are pricey, but built like a tank. GL

Best Shoes for Walking and Standing All Day – Any Suggestions?
Id definitely go with Hoka, my favorite is the Clifton model, but the Bondi is a popular option too. The large stack height and extra cushion make them really comfy

What's everyone's go-to sneaker?
Hoka clifton. Everytime one pair wears out, I just buy the new version. they're as comfy as walking/running shoes get, but are getting pretty pricey these days

What are the best shoes for standing all day?
I like the Bondis. Those are (IIRC) the most cushioned line. I would try to try some on in a store before you order them; some people like the next step down in cushioning, which is, I think, the Clifton. Hoka also has professional shoes that are all-leather and puncture-proof (important for nurses) and non-slip. You can do the shoe-finder thing on Hoka and get an idea of what might work best for you. Still, I would reiterate to try them on first in a store if you possibly can. Hoka has a good return policy if you can't. Oh--one thing I forgot: when I first tried on Hokas, I was almost 100 lbs overweight. That's why I went with the most cushioned ones. Now that I've lost 80 lbs, I'm still happy with the Bondis, but I'm thinking my next pair might be a little less cushiony and lean more toward extra stability, because my stride has changed.

Best shoes for walking/standing all day?
I have two pairs of Hoka Mafate. They are unisex so a bit wider and comfortable with thick socks. I only got a second pair because they were a collaboration with End, and they only had one color, a green and beige one. I wanted a more neutral one. I also like that in this style, the Hoka brand is not prominent. Also the colors are not circus-inspired combos like in most other styles.

[Request] Shoes that last longer than 5 months for people who actually work physical jobs?
Just a heads up that running shoes like the Cloud 5 are meant to be replaced every 300 miles - so if average about 5 miles per day in them, that’s only 60 days before they start wearing down. Mine lasted about 4 months at 7 miles per day, but that’s because I kept wearing them until the Cloud 6 was released and they had holes in them by that point! Also, the Hoka transport comes in a goretex version (it’s the transport GTX), that could be a good option. But also I think work shoes for your type of employment just might not be BIFL compared to the way a leather-soled dress shoe would be BIFL for an office type job.

I actually have my first pair of HOKA's on the way. Was going to try them out. I believe I got the Clifton 9's. I accidentally ordered regular D width instead of EE/2E (wide), though, so might have to exchange them when I put them on.
