Looking for an office chair, but can't spend a $1k+ on a Herman Miller. Are there any cheaper alternatives I can get online?
Bought a couple of the more expensive chairs at Costco, the brand is Hon, Taiwanese. They're probably not BIFL, but the first one has taken thousands and thousands of hours since 2020, including two cross country and one local move, and is still going strong. The other I just bought and it seems on the same path.

Looking for an office chair, but can't spend a $1k+ on a Herman Miller. Are there any cheaper alternatives I can get online?
I had bought a HON Basyx Biometryx Commercial-Grade Task, Office Chair for around $200 at the time. It has worked just as good as the Herman Miller I have at work.

The Best office chair for back pain that is Affordable and Long Hours sitting?
Check out chairs with adjustable lumbar support and a good seat cushion. HON and flexispot have some budget picks that could help your back without costing a ton... Also, read some user reviews to see what people think about comfort for long hours. You might find something helpful on ergonomicchairfinder that works for you.

Office chair for 250+ lbs used for 12+ hours a day
Look for a used Steelcase Leap or Haworth Zody. They go around $200ish and built to last. New, the HON Ignition 2.0 is solid under $300. Way better than gaming chairs.

Office chair for 250+ lbs used for 12+ hours a day
Steelcase definitely looks solid. From my list HON Ignition 2.0 seemed like the next best option under $300, but I get your point on mixing in some standing time too.

Looking for a new ergonomic desk chair that won’t break the bank but it’s good quality
I switched from a dining chair to the HON Ignition 2.0 a while back and it was a big difference for my back and shoulders.

Office chair that won’t flatten after a year or two?
I have a HON in my work office. My last one I got about 10 years out of and they run about $500. Not the best chairs in the world, but I'm not small (about 250) and I sit on it 8 hours per day with no discomfort.

PSA: Avoid Secretlab Chairs
I have personal experience with Hon and Herman Miller warranty being great. Buying quality office furniture isn't cheap but it does tend to have a company that stands behind it and can send out parts.

Requested to Provide Fake Engagement for Autonomous Chairs
Autonomous is like a 250 dollar chair, I’ve owned one, it developed an imbalance and is reasonably well constructed otherwise. I’ve since gotten a random Temu chair and honestly quite happy with it. I’ve used Herman Millers and HON ergonomic chairs but my home use case calls for an integrated footrest and high amounts of recline. Also I can be bought, if anyone is wondering, rate is 120 an hour, can’t undercut my own consulting price. Cash price negotiable.

What's the current best bang for buck standing desk that WFH folks love the most?
This is the frame I got: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09T9S3819](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09T9S3819) And this is the top: [https://www.staples.com/hon-mod-72-table-top-slate-teak-hlplrw7224-lsl1/product\_24484596](https://www.staples.com/hon-mod-72-table-top-slate-teak-hlplrw7224-lsl1/product_24484596) I don't think there's anything special about either of those brands, but I was more advocating for the general idea of getting the frame and a commercial-grade top separately because in my experience (I bought a similar set for my wife), you get better quality that way.

Best reasonably priced big men's desk chair?
Try the HON Ignition Mid-Back big and tall chair. The one without the mesh back. I have the non big and tall version at my desk for work. I used to weigh 381 pounds and I've had the same chair for the entire 11 years I've worked for my employer. The non big and tall one has held up for me.

stepdad’s son wrecked my setup. need BIFL replacement under $1k
I went to a office furniture store and checked out several dozen used chairs Almost every Steel Case chair leaned slightly to the right when reclining. I think it's supported on one side and relying on the chair back or something to keep it straight. and it bends. I bought an HON even though I preferred the ability to adjust how far you could come back that the Steel Case had

stepdad’s son wrecked my setup. need BIFL replacement under $1k
I have had this Autonomous chair for about 4 years. Gets nearly daily use and has held up reasonably, except for fabric deterioration on the seat bottom. I would recommend getting the non-fabric version if anticipating heavy use This is not a BIFL chair, though. Materials and fabric on HON, Herman Miller, Steelcase are better. If I were to do it over, I’d rather get a used one of those than Autonomous.

Hon is also an amazing chair, if you skip on the cheap ones.
