  Looking for washer dryer recommendations in Canada

  If it's an old classic Maytag dependable care washer, there is a hidden lint filter screen underneath the agitator. Often the lint screen can get clogged up, and can sometimes rip which will cause lint to go out the drain hose. The agitator is removed by removing a single 1/4" screw at the side of the base of the agitator, then pulling the agitator straight up.  Your old machine could be easily fixed if that is the issue, and honestly it has a good chance of out lasting anything you might replace it with.  If you must have a new machine though, look at a Hubesch (this is what Speed Queen is sold as in Canada), or a Whirlpool commercial model.

  Coworkers 1987 Maytag washer started leaking and he thought it was done for, one 2$ hose clamp later and it's good for another 40 years

  We had that exact Maytag, and when that pump goes, you can’t get a new one for love or money. We didn’t want to swap out, but we had no choice. So we got a Heubsch (what SpeedQueen is sold as in Canada), and it will outlive me I’m sure.

  LG washer blew itself apart so I bit the bullet.

  Our lg just crapped out on us as well and replaced with a tc5 as well.. amazing how much soap and dirt is coming off of “clean” clothes… also the clockwise vs counterclockwise knob deal is with timers… not an issue with the washer… enjoy the washer, it’s a game changer!

  Info Request: Looking to buy a Speed Queen(or Heubsch here in Canada) I'm a bit worried about the small drum size 3.2 cubic feet. Does anyone have one and can effectively wash king sized bedding?

  Yes I did. It's a great machine but had to buy a thin King comforter so it would fit. A fluffy or duvet style won't fit. Thats the only drawback, love it otherwise.

  As someone who's actually purchased the front load, light duty commercial Huebsch washer in Canada- All I can say is I love it. I believe my price was around 3600 + delivery and install fee's from a commercial distribution place in Edmonton. Zero issues so far, however I've only had it for a couple years... When my Maytag dryer shit the bed, I replaced it with the light duty commercial Huebsch dryer as well, but it was only around 1300.

  I've bought washer and dryer from Huebsch (Speed Queen for the Canadian market apparently), anf they've been amazing so far. I just want to say that you usually don't need to go overkill for the dryer as it's a pretty simple device that's usually long-lasting and easily repairable. On the other hand you'd want to invest on a high quality washer because that's where the big problems hide.

  Huebsch make very high quality washing machines, I would spend the extra for one of those.  As far as dryers, unless you really need the machines to match each other, I would likely get a basic no frills Amana/ Whirlpool dryer, they work just fine... Dryers are simple machines, and spending more on a more expensive dryer doesn't really improve very much in my experience.
