I like their [32oz](https://www.hydroflask.com/32-oz-wide-mouth-travel-bottle-with-flex-straw-cap) a lot with the [Chug Lid](https://www.hydroflask.com/wide-mouth-flex-chug-cap). Super easy to clean and will last a good while if you don’t work in trades or outdoors. One time I backed a 4,500lb pick up onto mine and it didn’t get totally flattened, just more cube like. I sent the video of the aftermath to Hydro Flask and they said that while it’s fascinating, they probably wouldn’t use it in marketing.

  14 year old OG Hydro Flask going strong

  I’m a huge fan of Hydroflask. By the time I got to Portland they were in REI. Their products have continued to hold up. Some are more than ten years old. I like your lid. It’s different than mine!

  Does anyone have a recommendation for a single cup thermos flask?

  Klean Kanteen 12oz TKWide with a Loop Cap. Hydroflask 12 oz Kids Wide Mouth Bottle with a Wide Mouth Flex Chug Cap. For both of these, you'll need to buy the additional cap to replace sipper caps that come with the bottles (which are not leak proof). I've been using both of these for years. As long as the lid is screwed on tight, it doesn't leak. Great heat and cold retention too.

  I have a lot of water bottles that I find for free around my uni. (they've been there for a week or more when I take them, I'm not snatching them as soon as someone leaves the room) Favourites thus far are 1. **Owala**, I have a insulated and non-insulated one, they rock, the straw really works for me. Had for 3 years now and they are glorious. It kept ice for 48hrs. Only thing is it's a bit hard to clean and remove mould from. **8/10** 2. **Random plastic cup** with lid and straw that reads "INSTALL smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and check every month". Ride or die. Comes with me everywhere. not even remotely leakproof. Had for 8 years and I would die for her. **9/10** 3. **Nalgene**. 'Nuff said. Sturdy, reliable, covered in stickers. Had since middle school. Easy to clean, easy to forget to clean and accidentally drink mould for months. **7/10** 4. **Hydroflask**. I use it for tea, its great and leakproof but the one that I have it TOO insulated and I can't ever drink my tea because it's too hot. Doesn't get much use, had for 7 years. **5/10**

  My 40oz Hydroflask is about ten years old. I use it with a "Wide Flex Chug Cap" when mobile so I can drink out of it without spilling [in the car]. I use the standard top for air travel because it reduces the height by an inch or so. I use a 30oz Yeti Rambler around the house as my water/tea glass. My whole family has older (~8-10yr) Kleen Kanteen 20oz bottles with a sort of sippy lid they don't make anymore that we use for hot tea/coffee when hiking/camping/sports. The only bottles we've purchased recently are smaller Rambler tumblers for my wife & daughters and a large Rambler tumbler with handle for my son, and my older daughter has been using an Owala bottle as her daily (that she received as a birthday present from a school friend). I see no reason any of these bottles won't last arbitrarily long assuming none are physically destroyed. Overall, we're very happy with both Hydroflask & Yeti (and Owala if you like straw bottles) -- both are a cut above Kleen Kanteen in quality.

  Just over 10 years on the original hydroflask design (with attached wide mouth lid) and the only 'flaws' are few dents from dripping over the years - and it's hand-wash only I've only recently been using my Owala because I love the straw/lid feature so much. I keep my hydro as a backup or for long trips and my Owala will likely be the new daily for however long it lasts!

  I have had a Thermoflask my mom bought from Costco for 10 years now and it's held up beautifully. Some cosmetic flaws here and there don't bother me. I did replace the lid, but that was because I wanted one with a straw, not because the lid it came with broke.

  I’ve had my hydro flask for at least 12 years. And I’ve had a klean kanteen for probably at least 15. Side story: when I was a little kid I thought it would be cool to have a white gas can as a water bottle. My dad said that was a bad idea because you’d drink your fuel accidentally which is a wild thought because that stuff is so smelly. Anyway, 10 years later everyone had a sigg bottle.

The Yetis I’ve had for a couple of years, only because I needed something bigger than the Hydroflask. They’re all insulated and have handles and are sturdy AF. I can’t see changing brands!

  i do construction work and usually have my hydroflasks (medium coffee big water) on a carabeener attached to me. they bang, they scrape, they get dropped. and i have to say they hold up pretty damn well. dropped my current large one 130 ft off a swingstage and it survived, with its thermal magic intact. though i should mention it landed in gravel, hardly a scratch on'r.

  Still using a 21oz hydroflask from 2016 almost daily I’ve dropped it so many times. It’s even fallen off my car roof about 3 times and it still has many years left. Surprisingly it only has a handful of dents and the paint is still near perfect except for the bottom. I recently purchased a Yeti 20 coffee mug and it’s even more sturdy (albeit, significantly heavier) than my hydro flask, I’ve been using it for coffee/tea daily. It has a small chip but no dents. If you care about dents and less about weight go with yeti. If you want a lighter bottle and you’re ok with dents I would get a hydro flask, just know that it WILL get dented fairly easily/quickly.

  i have a hydroflask i got back in like, 2020/2021 i think, and then i have an owala straw tumbler my husband got me this year. i prefer the hydroflask for like, theme parks and other places where it’s just thrown in a bag all day. I use the owala for shopping trips and stuff since it’s easier to drink from. i do have a problem with iced coffee cups tho i will admit 😅

  Got an OG hydroflask for free when they were popular almost a decade ago because my sister has OCD and after it fell once she couldn't use it anymore (OCD sucks man). It's actually worked pretty well for me and keeps water cold for a pretty long time. I've thought about buying an easy-drink lid for it but really theirs no need as the screw lid technically works fine. Someone gifted me a fancy stanley-type water cup but I haven't used it yet. Saving it for if the current one breaks or gets lost somewhere.

  I've owned two Hydroflasks. First one is a green 32 oz widemouth. Popped a twist n sip lid on it. Carried it for 4 1/2 years 3 1/2 of that was retail. Dropped and dented it soo much. Wouldn't sit flat anymore. Still perfectly serviceable. The only reason I switched is I changed to working around tech, so I needed something that would sit flat. So I bought a new pale blue hydro 32 oz wide mouth and added a blue twist n sip lid. My husband carries the green one during the summer for work. He now *gets* it. The blue has been in service for about two years at this point. Still a daily carry.

  Through various needs and gifts, I have acquired RTIC, Yeti, Hydroflask, Nalgene, Owala, and Hydrojug. Honestly all have been great. They each have their pros, design wise. I kind of avoid the Nalgene now because of microplastics, but keep it due to the memories with it. I’d say Hydroflask does straw top best, Yeti does chug cap best, RTIC is a ‘cheaper’ brand that works just as well, and the Owala is great because it’s both chug and straw, both completely covered by the secure cap. I have the Hydrojug stainless shaker and it has seemed to show its beatings the most. I’d say purchase based on cap style and color you like the most, I think most of these brands will last a very long time.

  I have a yeti 40 and hyraflas 32 or 36, can't remember. Both seem to perform equally well as far as I am concerned. I just didn't think about it until after that the 40 is too big for cup holders and a lot of other things. And that didn't seem like that big of a deal until I remembered that this includes a lot of backpacks with sleev cup holders, door storage compartments, etc.

  The HydroFlask 40oz tumbler (with an added silicone boot) that has a soft silicone straw. I could never find a water bottle that I liked, and finally figured out it was the metal or hard olastic that I couldn't stand, especially when it hits my teeth. I stumbled on the two that I have on the clearance rack at TJMaxx.  They're being discontinued by the company. I ordered a few of the clearance options back in October. I've also seen a few hit the sales rack in the back if Whole Foods.

  I started with Nalgene and then switched to hydro flask because plastic. But I’ve gone back to the Nalgene. It’s lighter and I never have to worry about a moldy seal or even leaks. It’s simple and it is a great way to carry around a large amount of water.

  I graduated highschool in 2013 and remember being one of the only kids with a water bottle I carried all day. We didn't even have working water fountains when I was there and the school didn't install water bubblers until a few years after I graduated, so if you wanted more water you basically had to pack it all yourself 😭 My go tos are usually a 32oz Nalgene and my Hydroflask if I want something insulated. I have nerve issues in my hands and drop & knock over my big hydroflask all the time and it works just fine. Has lasted me 2 baseball seasons being lugged around in my car and baseball bag and occasionally getting knocked over onto concrete in the dugout and still works perfectly. I think Yeti makes great water bottles too if you want insulated. Yeti cups are indestructible and if you register your products on their site they'll send you free stickers which I just think is neat. I tend to buy mine at TJ Maxx. I always find Yeti cups and Hydroflasks there for cheaper than retail. Also starting to see Stanley cups there now that the trend has died down a bit. I don't own one, I think those giant stanleys just look ridiculous and you can't fit them in a regular water bottle pocket of a backpack. But I did put a Stanley 8oz flask and their french press coffee maker on my Xmas list this year. And I have a Stanley thermos which is notorious for being BIFL.

Bought it in early 2019, it’s sticker bombed to hell, it’s been dropped dozens of times, has a couple of nice dents on the bottom, but still does a good job of keeping water cold.   What do you need the newest and greatest for? Just be a few generations behind and replace it if it breaks with the next thing. I'm still using my Bodum travel mug from like 2012 for warm drinks and my Nalgene for water, and when that breaks it's on to Hydroflask, and then Yeti mugs, and then those goofy Stanley cups, and if I'm still alive then I've no doubt they'll have made many exciting new products I can buy.

  I’ve got 3 of varying sizes. One was a gift, the other two I purchased. My 20oz travels everywhere with me. I wouldn’t mind getting a collapsible water bottle just for flights, but I my hydro flask will last me forever.

  My 32oz hydroflask bottle will fit into the cup-holder of the front doors of my SUV so I'm still rocking it that way, but definitely an underrated QOL aspect for water bottles. Was a big deal when I was in college and my Nalgenes were a bit too big to fit in my backpack water bottle sleeve next to the width of the textbook(s) I'd be hauling around so I ended up carrying it everywhere.

  I've had the same Hydroflask for 6 years.  It doesn't insulate as well as it used to due to a large amount of drops from pretty high places but it is mine and I don't go anywhere without it.

  I was gifted a Nalgene plastic bottle with the strapped lid, a simple clear plastic body with measurements and a sky blue lid. I figured out I could clip it to my belt loop via carabineer in highschool, often walked around with that banging into my hip and thigh. A couple years later I bought a few more with variations including a narrow mouth and a twice as large (it was longer not wider) version. I still have all of them, they work fine. The only consistent issue I had with the Nalgene bottles was they sweat buckets. Any ice in them was gone quickly and soaked whatever it touched. A few years ago Amazon turned me on to ThermoFlask/Hydroflask. I did get a couple of 20-24 ounce Hydroflask brand insulated bottles alongside a few lid options like a straw, a Propel-like titty-nipple to suck on as well, etc. but I wound up using these 40 ounce ThermoFlask bottles with basic lids. I have two of them, one white and one blue, one meant for work and the other for home use. Being diabetic on medications I need to drink quite a bit more water than I would usually drink and having a measurement reference that I can easily identify as mine and only mine has been helpful both for my health but peace of mind. I'm not drinking 8 glasses of water a day, I'm trying to aim for 1-1.5 of these 40 ounce bottles per day and it helps keep the ice for hours longer, close to a day. I can't speak to all insulated bottles and qualities between manufacturers, I'm not testing these things independently for comparison. I can tell you that I bought both of the bottles October 2019 (reviewed my Amazon purchase history lol) and both are still in fine condition though the blue one has developed a couple of small rusty spots on the inside bottom. The white one is in a little better shape though both have some small dents from drops and whatnot. I would recommend them based on my experiences. In the interest of disclosure I will be clear that I actively avoid abuse. Not just of people but tools and possessions. So I haven't run over my ThermoFlask bottles, not dropped off a building, not thrown across a parking lot, and not used as an improvised melee weapon. I've dropped both on many surfaces from asphalt and concrete to grass and tile and other than dents that aren't immediately noticeable unless you look at the underside, I'm looking at my blue bottle right now and I can barely find scratches. I'm pretty confident that with the lid changes (they're plastic) these bottles could last me the rest of my life.

  Hydroflask 40oz. Has been my daily driver for over a decade. It finally got dropped and the vacuum seal broke so I replaced it with… another hydroflask, 32oz. this time. I’ve been very happy with Yeti products as well, I just thought the value proposition with a hydroflask was better.

  The Takeya 17oz Traveler Leakproof Coffee Mug is the one I grab most often. (IMO it's a water bottle, NOT a coffee mug.) I know they're unpopular because the carry ring breaks easily, which makes the lid unusable, but I never use the ring so it doesn't matter for me. It's an comfortable size to carry around and the flip lid with pour spout is the easiest to drink from while driving. I have Nalgene, Hydroflask, S'well and some no-name brand, but the Takeya is the one I use 90% of the time.

  I’m not an absolute loyalist but I have one of each type and rotate them by use. Stanley cup is my daily driver around the house, I find it more convenient/encouraging for me to consume water. Hydroflask is for times when I want my drink to stay cold/hot for a while. And the classic Nalgene for everything else. I have some of the others that I’ve collected of the years but those only get pulled out for overflow.

  I just bought my first hydroflask on the black friday sale. I have used Yeti, simply modern, and Stanley (tumblers). I have not been impressed at all by any of them as they don't seem to last and end up leaking/denting. I am looking forward to getting my hydroflask and I hope it lasts many years!

  They’re literally all the same to me. Stanley keeps things coldest the longest. Owala and Hydroflask are very practical and won’t leak. I am also very happy with a mason jar and a lid! But that is breakable and not insulated. I have chronic nausea and very cold water helps with that, so I do like to have one that stays cold because I don’t have easy access to ice where I work.

  I still use my 40oz wide mouth Hydroflask that was "hip" so many years ago. When these things last forever with good care, they need to sell gimmicks to keep up sales. Yearly new gimmicks are directly for consumers who hate being caught with the same item as someone else.   Yup, on the hydroflask train here. I have a few of their wide mouth 20oz cups that i've used for 10+ years. When the gaskets wear out, hydroflask has been awesome about sending me new ones. I've only had to buy a new one when I lost the old bottles. I use it for coffee in the morning, rinse it out and water for the rest of the day. No plan to change.

  About 7 years ago, my boss at the time bought me a Hydroflask and that's what I've been using ever since. I've had to replace the cap a couple of times and it has its fair share of dents and paint chips, but I fully expect it to last forever unless something catastrophic happens to it.

  Longest? I have Nalgenes I bought in the 1980s still. They are yellowed but work. But I don't use them much anymore. My favorites now are all Yeti, Hydroflask, RTIC, and Kleen Kanteen. Every one was thrifted, so cost my $6 or less. All are basically the same insulated stainless construction; the only meaningful differences are the tops. They work great. I have a bunch since I keep them at home, at work, in the truck, and we're using them with the entire family. That said, I have a dozen or more that need to go to Goodwill, mostly plastic ones I'll never use again. Most of those were gimmes from work or conferences.

  I’ve had a Nalgene for 15 years. It’s a champ and survived through years of soccer games and being slammed around in my backpack but it doesn’t fit in my car cupholder and isn’t insulated. So now I prefer my hydroflask to stay cold all day but it doesn’t handle all the falls quite so well. The bottom is no longer flat . But I continue to use both all the time they still serve their purpose.

I researched & bought Hydro Flask as reviews said "holds temp" plus found it is lead free. $pendy & worth it.  Using daily over two years, sharing with friends who work veg gardens in 90°F+, hike wilderness, travel for work (tech, as in Austin we have 20,000 code writers).

  I actually stopped using my Hydro Flask because of that though. Just personal preference - it stayed too cold for too long for me. I have one of the Owala's now that doesn't retain temp as well, which is good for me. If others see this - if you want your drink to stay cold for a long time, Hydro Flask is a great option!

  Finally found a water bottle that doesn't crap out after a year

  My Hydro Flasks are champions. I wanted a lid that covered the top of the straw when I wasn't drinking., so I purchased a knockoff lid. It fits perfectly, no leaks. I also highly recommend Thermoflask, it's just as durable as Hydro Flask. For those who may not care about insulation, Contigo is excellent. I have some of their water bottles and coffee cups. I can throw any of these things into a tote without worrying about leaks.

  Leakproof & Dishwasher Safe Water Bottles

  I’ve had good luck with the Takeya Actives bottles the spout lid is leakproof and dishwasher safe. Hydro Flask with the chug cap is another solid option (they sell replacement gaskets too). Both have held up way better than the random ones where the silicone ring keeps falling out.

  I love Nalgene! I have like 3. They are so cheap, durable , and really easy to clean. Dishwasher safe and spouts aren’t usually on the same product as the insulated water bottles are almost always painted. Owala seems to be a decent brand, and I think they look nice. I also have an Iron Flash Fahrenheit widemouth that I’ve had for years that has a spout and is insulated, but sticking it in the dishwasher might chip it.   I have a bunch of stainless steel water bottles, double insulated. Cheap China, Owala, Takeya, Hydroflask, Ozark Trail. We use them daily, and put them thru the dishwasher nightly. All of the double walls have held up as far as keeping ice all day or night if they don't get washed. I haven't had any that stopped keeping cold. After 10 years, a lot of the powder coating on all of them have started getting a dull finish from the dishwasher. The ones that have dents from dropping begin to get flaking over time. The point of breakdown is usually the lid. I dropped my owala lid, and the plastic where the straw inserts cracked. A few other lids have also been dropped and plastic handles or the flip top part will be the break point. But lids are fairly cheap to replace in comparison to the bottle. Same with silicone rings. So my rec is just to get the bottle that fits where you need it to (backpack holder, car cup holder) and has the lid you like. The Owalas are the current favorite for ease of use and in style for my kid. I have a few Fauxwalas from Temu, and other than they don't have Owala label, work just the same. And I am sure all of the powder coating issues would be solved with handwashing vs dishwasher. But I hate handwashing. Also, acrylic paint pens are amazing for putting names and designs on water bottles. I have ones that have lasted 9 years with minor touchups.

  I’ve had my hydro flask for going on 10 years and it’s never failed me. Stick to a basic lid tho, anything with a straw or flip nozzle, etc tends to leak, in my experience.

  My original wide mouth 32oz Hydroflask is 9 years old. I liked their old flip lid a lot, but their new one leaks the tiniest bit so I just switched to their straw flip lid. I have a Stanley Quencher (30 oz) that keeps water really cold but I only use it in the car or at home as I think it would be a pain to carry all day. I got this as a gift from my work and I probably wouldn’t have bought it otherwise but it really does keep water cold for a long time.

  I use a 40 oz hydroflask with a 12 inch silicone straw. You can tuck the straw down and close the drinking hole. Wash the straw (I put it over a tine in the bottom shelf of my washer), lid, and bottle in the dishwasher every day. Works great.

  Ever since I found a hydro flask travel bottle 7 years ago, I’ve been sold on the brand. I now have the 32 oz cup with straw, 2 40 oz travel bottles, 1 16 oz coffee cup, and a 64 oz growler. One of my 40 oz travel bottles is a bit beat up, but that’s only on the outside from where I’ve dropped it several times. The structural integrity is still there. I haven’t had any issues with the 32 oz cup with the straw. It’s been easy to clean with a large brush for the cup and a straw brush for the straw. I’ve always found sales, so I rarely pay over 60% of the original price. One thing I will note, don’t shake the bottle when you have carbonated beverages in there. The plastic ring will detach from the cap and you’ll have to replace it.

  The Owala FreeSip is a bit of a pain to clean though, also in around the chug spout. I still like it. Just wish the carrying handle were larger and it fit better into a cup holder. They do have the FreeSip Sway also, but it is very large at the top. Even the 24oz of either style does not fit easily in a car cup holder. Thus far has not leaked but the flip cap with the spring came apart within a month of use. VERY difficult to get back together. The quality is much less than Hydro Flask. I am really liking the Hydro Flask Travel Bottle with the flex straw cap. It is designed to fit into cup holders better (smaller bottom). This works very well, but at times I miss the chug spout. Hydro Flask has some good colors with matching lids on their website. I like both the 24oz and 32oz (I have not tried the 40oz). Does not leak and has a good straw cap and handle. They have some limited edition neon colors currently, as well. By the way, you can buy a black flex straw cap to fit on your other wide mouth Hydro Flask bottles. With either of these a straw cleaner is necessary, and a special brush to get in the nooks and crannies. Right now, Hydro Flask has their Clean and Bright bundle, which includes a great bottle brush, and a straw and lid cleaning set for $18.99.

  I found an off brand hydro flask in our theatres lost and found like 8 years ago I think. I bought a new lid for it (fits the hydro flask 40oz lids) and it’s gone everywhere with me since. I travel a ton for work, and I am not even remotely gentle with it. The lids feel like a reasonable replacement part if they break, but so far so good. Idk how any similar bottle could be “sturdier” tbh they’re stainless steel cylinders lol

  I have a 40 oz hydroflask that’s still like new, except for a dent that happened when it fell out of my car onto pavement. Your post made me start to wonder how long I’ve had it…. 2 years and 2 months! If the dent impacted its ability to keep things cold, I haven’t noticed. I bought their bottle cleaning kit so I could get inside the straw. We also have several Takeya bottles in our house that have gone through a lot of abuse and have held up. My 6 year old takes his to school every day and they’re a bit beat up, but still in good shape. They’re not my favorite because I put a ton of ice in mine and the ice blocks the flow of the water, but that’s my only complaint.

  Looking for insulated 1 liter water bottle

  Plenty of options mentioned here. My nieces used to say hydro flask was cool, now they are carrying owala. I like my Stanley thermos but it’s bigger than 1 liter and unwieldy to hike and walk around with. They have them in the 1 liter though. I’m rocking a no name bottle that was a hand out. It’s the right size and performs pretty good. Bottom says brand is h2go. I just put water and ice in it and rarely even wash it. It’s been dropped several times on concrete, and has a dent or two. I think dishwasher will kill the vacuum. If you are drinking something other than water, maybe black coffee, the whatever you can conveniently hand wash or get with a bottle brush. You can probably go by goodwill and take your pick of several, keep the one that works and give them back the others. Not making a responsible bifl option, but at least it recycles something. The type of bottle im using are handed out like candy as logo gear, probably thrown into a corner somewhere until they are taken to goodwill or thrown out.

  Klean Kanteen, Hydroflask or Yeti. Yeti: I love the chug cap on Yetis, but they are heavier, don't hold as much volume for the size, and IMO don't hold temp as well (very marginal difference). They do seem more durable than Hydroflask or Klean Kanteen. Did i mention how much i love the chug cap. If hydroflask or Klean Kanteen had a similiar cap, i'd switch. Hydroflask: they come with a lifetime warranty (or at least they used to so double check), super light, but not as durable IMO. Klean Kanteen: more durable than Hydroflask and insulates super well. They are also a Certified B Corp if that matters to you.

  Looking for insulated 1 liter water bottle

  I have a few brands you could check out: Hydroflask, Kleen Kanteen, Camelbak (vacuum insulated bottles). I have dropped all three brands from about 6ft high. They are dented and dinged. The only issues I’ve had with them are the tops (plastic) which ultimately break. Key to keeping them hot or cold is to “charge” before use. I feel like a lot of people get upset with time span of hot/cold. For coffee: I fill it with boiled water and let it sit (with the lid on) while the coffee brews. From ~6:30 to 5PM I still have hot/warm coffee (depending on if I remember to close the lid afterwards). For cold: I either pop it in the freezer for 20 minutes, or fill it with ice. I generally only put water in it. Sometimes I’ll mix in a liquid IV. Avoid straight stainless steel bottles. You want to look for vacuum insulated.

  Realistically, any of the modern vacuum sealed ones should work.  I'm partial to Hydroflask personally. I used one of their bottles for years and beat it pretty badly before it stopped holding temperature. I then filled a warranty claim (lifetime warranty) and received a new one within a few weeks.

  I have a Hydroflask that I used hard as a summer camp director in 2010 (old logo), broke the cap two times (replaced by hydroflask), I still currently use it as a Disaster Responder going to deployments at natural disasters, throwing the bottle into vehicles, surviving being brought to shelters/hurricanes/lava flows/wildfires/etc. I was gifted a brand new hydroflask 5 years ago and still haven’t needed to use it because the old one is still going. I can’t imagine I simply cannot kill it. So if Yeti is a better product I’d be happy to give it a shot. Once my 15 year old Hydroflask (and it’s back up) kick the bucket.

  I love both my hydroflasks, and I bet you had the regular insulated cap. No straw, no sip hole or whatever. That insulates way better than the other lids and keeps ice forever. I spent a couple summers in southern Utah and that bottle kept me from being air fried.

  Didn’t expect this to last me 10+ years… but here we are

  I had a similar water bottle, my mom got it for me right before I headed off to college. ~10 years later and that bottle had been to 20+ countries and all across the United States. How I didn’t lose it in that timeframe is beyond me. A couple years back its seal broke and it wouldn’t keep drinks cold anymore so I sent it back to Hydroflask for a free replacement. I damn near turned around and marched back in the store to ask the FedEx worker for it back after giving it to him to ship. I still miss that bottle but I’m happy to have ice cold drinks again.

  I can't recommend the Hydro flask from Costco enough. My wife and I use them and she is a trucker and has dropped hers out of the truck multiple times, and I'm a super clutz we have never had any problems with them. They keep ice water cold for a out 24 hours.

  Unfortunately with the way things are made so cheap these days, It's definitely worth it to do research and procrastinate just purchasing something. I worked for an appliance customer service line for a while and people will call in with a 6-year-old appliance that is now acting up whereas I get calls about the first maintenance for someone who bought one almost 30 years ago. We also had protocols because we weren't supposed to tell people this but we had protocols whenever someone would call in because it was such a common problem for that specific model that we had to pretend it was the first time but then go through the protocol either replacing their product or sending them replacement parts and a free tech service. I would definitely say some things people are just hesitating on but other things even reusable water bottles are something that I research nowadays.I thought spending a good $15 to $20 on a water bottle was enough but within a year of using it something breaks or it starts to leak. The only good water bottle that I bought one time and I'm still using it is my hydroflask. I spent almost $70 about 5 years ago on a hydro flask for my birthday. It's definitely fallen and it's definitely been left in places but despite everything it's been through it is still the same amazing water bottle and none of the parts have broken off of it or stopped working as intended.

  Uniqlo basic tees and their selvage jeans are good everything else is sub par quality. Muji has better quality shirts. Charhartt wip are pricey but worth it. Work boots. If you can afford redwings those are amazing. If you cant, wolverines are good intro boots. Ive had a pair for 10 years and counting ive only had them repaired once. Watch I chose a seiko automatic not too expensive but reliable easy to maintain and relatively stylish. As someone that walks as a main mode of transportation there are NO BIFL sneakers/shoes so buy whatevers comfortable and just trust that youll need to replace them after a year (or 2 max) and since everyones foot is different youll need to find a shoe that you have tried before buying. Rain coat columbia is the best IMO. North face is literally the heaviest out of the rest. Patagonia is OK but theres something about it im not comfortable with. Backpack. Waxed canvas. Just remember to check the wax on it regularly. No specific brand in mind its more of the upkeep I have literally 20+ different insulated tumblers ive only used 2 on a daily basis. One is a standard 22oz silver one with no paint coating. Its all beat up but it has character and since it doesnt have paint my ocd doesnt get triggered. The second one is an old hydroflask back when they were just starting and not a money grab company they are now. Its an open top cap one for coffee. Lunch box, zojirushi lunch jar. Yes this is pricy but as someone who is well in his 30s and brings lunch to work this is awesome cause it keeps food hot for 8hrs (warm till 12hrs) ive had mine since college. This thing is pretty indestructible im pretty sure it would out live me. Also since im also part asian zojirushi rice cookers are built to be handed down generationally. Right now im out of what else to recommend but let me know if youre looking for a specific item ill let you know my thoughts on it. Yeah other people would recommend the best most expensive but on an actual practical level im a pretty safe bet to ask.

  Anyone have good experiences with glass travel mugs?

  I use a hydroflask 40oz stainless steel bottle for water most of the time. It's great. Much nicer drinking out of than plastic. You just need to be a little careful of not dropping it, as stainless steel will dent. The hydroflasks are a durable material but it will dent if you drop it on a hard surface. I have an old one that got dropped a few times on rocks and concrete. The dents aren't terrible, it's still perfectly usable, but just something to keep in mind if that really bothers you. I have a newer one I got a year ago that I've been able to avoid denting so far. For backpacking and long international trips I use tritan Nalgenes though. Lighter weight and more durable.

  Glass mugs are for people who are sensitive to taste change when their drink (especially water) is put into plastic or metal mugs. It will probably be more likely to leak, will turn your drink into room temperature very quickly, and not to mention will crack or shatter when you eventually drop it. I also hate having my drinks in plastic containers so I would recommend Fellow Carter for a leakproof coffee mug, or a Hydro Flask for water.

I have: 40oz simple modern trek tumbler 32oz Owala free sip 21 oz hydroflask standard Maybe a larger hydroflask has better ice retention but my Owala and SM bottles have good ice retention and dent less easy. If I needed another midsize water bottle I would go with a SM bottle vs the Owala

That thing has been dropped constantly and even from heights up to 25ft, bounced constantly around my forklift cab at my old job, and still standing. Sure, some small dents, scratched to shit, and I can hear a piece of metal that's broken in between the inside & outside walls that slides around. But the inside steel wall is still sealed 100% and nothing is actually broken to where I can't use it.

  I have way too many water bottles that I have bought or received as gifts. I think there are some questions that most people should answer before buying a water bottle. 1) Do you want to add ice? 2) What type of cap do you enjoy, open top, straw, flip top etc… 3) Do you need a handle? 4) Do you care about how it looks/if it dents? 5) How much insulation do you need? 6) How heavy do you want it to be? I think a hydroflask is a decent all around bottle that you can get in a variety of sizes. The standard one has a top you can change out for a straw or flip top. It keeps water cold for awhile. I have a yeti I got as a gift that has some sort of outside coating that never dents or chips, but it is heavier and has a slide top which I don’t care for. My favorite bottle right now is a Takeya. It’s plastic on the outside, stainless on the inside, has a handle and a chug top. I also have a memo bottle for when I want something light and packable.

  Hydro flask sells small silicone sleeves (say that 5 times fast) that you put over the bottom of the bottle and protect pretty well against dents in my experience. The sleeves get caught in backpack pockets and cup holders sometimes though, since they’re kind of grippy. I’ve had a good experience with my Hydroflask so far. It’s 2 years old or so. Totally leakproof.

I was gifted a yeti through an event I attended and don’t like it at all. I also have a hydroflask coffee tumbler, and my only complaint on that one is the coffee stays burning hot for awhile.   I’ve had a few hydro flask bottles for years now. I’d suggest the no straw bottles. I find them very challenging to keep clean with all the nooks and crannies you can’t really get into. The twist on cap with a rubber seal is super easy to keep clean! I bought some extra rubber seals for when they get nasty/unclean-able. Usually a few times a year I’ll swap them out because I’m a neat freak :)

  Coffee Cup/Tumbler that is EASY TO CLEAN and ideally leak proof

  I really like my hydroflask one. Ive used it for years and yest the lid comes apart in 4 pieces and its a little tricky to learn, but if i remember correctly, it came with a little manual with pictures of how to take it apart and put it together. Also, each piece is labeled by number, so you know which goes first. Once i learned how to use it, i loved it. Its dishwasher safe to deep clean, and 100% leakproof (as long as the lid is on properly, of course). i throw it in my commuter backpack and have never had leak issues.

  I have owalla, hydroflask, Stanley as well as a few lesser brands. All of them keep water cold and tea hot. None of them are BIFL technically as the fittings and enamel will eventually break down, but definitely decades of use. If you want sleek, yeti is the best design with the non enameled stainless base. The others need a silicon boot to protect the enamel otherwise they chip and dent and don't stand straight after.

  I would recommend a hydroflask 24 oz. they have a neck like a normal water bottle but a little larger. The insulation is excellent at keeping hot stuff hot or cold stuff cold. Very durable as well. Hydroflask.com. I use a 32 oz but it's shaped like a Nalgene so you probably wouldn't like it. The 24oz fits in normal cupholders and the standard lid has a hole that you can put a carabiner through for easy transport to make sure you keep it with you all day.
