  Take this from someone that used exclusively Focal's with a Mod Mic for almost a decade before trying a wireless gaming headset. Use the wireless gaming headset. HyperX Core II Wireless. Yes, the audio you get from whatever setup you have with actual headphones is amazing. Yes, the convenience of having a wireless headset is 1000x times better and the audio is 70% as good for gaming.

  ^^^ I have a hyperx cloud headset I bought in 2018, I had to reattach the ear pad on one side but I knock them off my desk a few times a week for 7 years and they still work great. With how many pairs of earbuds I've gone through in the same amount of time, pretty impressive. They're also super comfy and have decent sound quality imo. Hopefully they are still being built solid.

  I have a HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless from 2022 I’ve used for over three years without any issues. Only thing I replaced was the earpads. Great headset with amazing battery life. Sound quality and mic is relatively decent but nothing that will knock your socks off.

  Can vouch for HyperX II. I've had 3 pairs in 15 years. One died because my roommate fucked the cable. The other died because I fucked the cable. But they're repairable, and the chassis is arranged so you can keep 'em together with zip ties long after the fit gets loose

  Yup, thats why as soon as i goy my hyper x i changed it to custom wicked cushions, they are pricey, but sound and comfort is godly.

  The only thing I don't like about HyperX headphones is their ear cushions and top of the head cushion start to flake after about a year. But they are otherwise the best set I have ever had, too.

  Headphones for sensitive friend

  All I can do is recommend Hyper X headphones. I also have ear problems (i'm prone to ear infections, have tinnitus etc.) and I've been using the Cloud II for at least 10 years now. They're over ear, but flexible enough to move one of the cups to the side of your head when needing to listen to your surroundings. It comes with leather earcups, and velour memory foam ones. Whatever you prefer. The mic quality is.... okay, and it's detachable, which is really nice. It's not bluetooth though, idk if that was a requirement.

SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 (or 7X / 7P) * price: often around $140–$150 on sale * pros: excellent soundstage for positional awareness, comfortable ski-band design, multi-platform (pc, ps, xbox depending on model), dual wireless + bluetooth. * cons: battery life is good but not best-in-class (\~38 hours). # 2. hyperx cloud alpha wireless * price: \~$130 * pros: outstanding battery life (up to 300 hours), clear directional audio, strong build, comfortable memory foam padding. * cons: no bluetooth, mostly pc/ps compatible. # 3. logitech g pro x 2 lightspeed (if you found on sale) * price: normally $250, but sales can drop it to $150 \~$170. * pros: fantastic positional sound with dts headphone:x, swappable earpads, low-latency lightspeed dongle. * cons: might stretch your budget unless discounted. # 4. corsair hs80 rgb wireless * price: \~$120 * pros: dolby atmos support, very good mic quality, comfortable floating headband, works on pc and ps5. * cons: battery life is shorter (\~20 hours). # 5. razer blackshark v2 pro (2023 ed) * price: \~$150 * pros: clear positional audio, lightweight, improved mic quality, 70-hour battery life. * cons: sound signature leans toward bass heavy if unadjusted. requirements: * under $150 * wireless/ a dongle not a headphone jack * good positional sounds * noise cancellation (not a MUST) let me break down your requirements real quick wireless will always have some latency even with low latency dongles so if you are aiming for competitive gaming you are already putting yourself at a disadvantage good positional sound usually comes from open back headphones but those do not block outside noise if by noise cancellation you mean active noise cancellation (ANC) it actually hurts positional accuracy because it alters the sound cues and is more useful for airplanes or travel closed back headphones already block some outside noise but not in a way that ruins positional sound for casual gaming you can spend less and still get solid wireless options for competitive gaming wired open back headphones are still the best since they give you a wider soundstage and make it feel like you have wall hacks.

  I use the hyper X wireless gaming headset. Its about 170ish depending on where you buy it. (Wireless. Not Bluetooth, so won't replace your day to day headphones) I use it predominantly for gaming. But the selling point was the comfort. I can do long computer sessions without any issues. No headaches. And I have a big head. I think I've charged it a total of 3 times since I got it a year ago. And it brags a 300 hour battery life. Feels true. The only downside if this is for work would be the price if 170 is on the higher end for a work specific device, and that it doesn't fold up if you're on the go.

  BIFL - a mouse! What's a high quality mouse I can buy?

  just found out my HyperX Mouse can do the same thing because of this comment it has 5 side buttons and a tipping scroll wheel so i set skip forward and backwards on the scroll wheel tips and volume up and down on 2 side buttons and play/pause and mute on the 2 below those so i have full media control and an extra programmable button still
