I have an iRobot roomba from about 2015. Still works great. It can connect to an app but doesn’t need to and has simple replacement filters and parts. Easy to clean. I did need to replace the battery once. I think the lower models with less connection needs must end up outlasting for this reason.

Finally stopped buying cheap vacuums and invested in a better one, does it actually last?
My dyson is great but I also have hardwood so its not as heavy use as people with all carpet. Not exactly BIFl but I also buy roombas second hand and clean/repair them. So I also have 4 roomba i3s that clean every day.

What long-lasting cleaning appliances are worth picking up?
I don’t think robot vacs are BIFL unfortunately. I’ve been through several over the years. The older roombas are good - replacement parts, etc., but since iRobot was acquired by Amazon… That said, they are worth having to keep the floors from getting as dirty. Amazing how much they pick up from a so called clean floor!

I have an irobot i3 and it runs every day without issues. The replacement rollers and filters are available cheap on Amazon. It collects plenty of debris and cat hair, mix of carpets and hard floors.

Roomba i3 for around 5 years and still better than my new shark robot. The tank is small but it picks up better. But it also vacuums like a blindman in a ball room.

Ever Bought Something That Quietly Changed You?
It was on sale at Big W (Australia), the iRobot Roomba 692. Nothing fancy but it does the job and the app is handy as you can put it on a schedule or turn it on for an extra clean if you are out.

I've had irobot, eufey, and roborock. None of them stopped working. They did get louder with time cause plastic parts, but they still worked the same. I don't see why you are having so many issues.

I had a Rooma i3 until super recently (downsized and moved, it still works great). It's able to be repaired and cleaned regularly which is key to making sure it lasts a long time. Not sure if this applies to the robot vacuums but Sharks are easy to repair and have five year warranties.

I still use my Roomba & Brava (iRobot mopper) from a decade ago. I added the Roomba combo one 2 years ago. All going strong!
