  Towels that don’t suck

  Well maybe they are. I have two JC Penny towels that my mom sent me to college with 41 years ago. They are still soft and plush with little color change.

  Any recommendations for non soft bathroom towels?

  JC Penney.  I hadn't been in one in decades but I spotted one in the wild so I went in bought two towels. So rough. If I'd wanted a loofah I would have bought one.

  Something you didn’t expect to be BIFL but outlasted your expectations?

  The cutesy JC Penney towels we put on our wedding registry in 2012 and have washed approximately 200 times each still look brand new (minus like two popped stitches).

  Costco/Kirkland T Shirts are worth it!

  Those are pretty good, but I prefer the JC Penny Stafford shirts. Specifically the “heavyweight” ones.

  A good mattress, do they exist anymore?

  Man I wish I could tell you what mattress I have, but I’m at work. JCPenney, Presidents’ Day sale online. You can stack coupon codes so I was able to get a 3500$ mattress down to about 1k. I’ve had it for about 8 years and it’s still incredibly comfortable.

  Where are the shirts that last this long???

  How are you drying if not tumble??? My JCP Traveler dress shirts are at least 5 years old. I have 8, wear a dress shirt 5 days a week. Machine wash and dry 5 weekly. Sadly, I think they are discontinued.

  Problems with Levis Jeans and denim overall

  Everything I've bought from Levi's for the last 10 years has been junk. Some of it turned out to be some stretch material that they don't tell you it's made from, some of it's just way too thin, that's probably what you're dealing with not the old fashioned Levi's heavy denim, but some cheap thin lightweight stretchy crap that doesn't hold up a fraction of the time. I'll never buy Levi's again. I managed to find some good inexpensive everyday pants at Kohl's, and if they ever have any on hand jcpennys carries some reasonable daily wear pants, Levi's aren't in style anymore, and they aren't fit for daily wear so they're junk to me.

  I've been using the Wirecutter-recommended [JCPenney sateen sheets](https://www.jcpenney.com/p/wrinkle-guard-400tc-cotton-sheet-set/ppr5007993758?pTmplType=regular) for over 10 years. They're incredibly comfortable and they hold up well -- plus they don't wrinkle at all. They're on sale for $70 right now too.

  Flannel shirts that last

  I have a bunch of my dad’s flannels which are at least 20 years old. The labels are either Sears or JCPenney but the quality of the materials and construction is amazing. Other than needing the occasional button they are as good as new. I wear them often.

  Bed stuff I'm thinking of buying

  You aren’t supposed to sleep under a weighted blanket really… I know people do, but their real purpose is therapeutic; sensory input to help regulate neurodivergent folks. For sheets, about 5+ years ago i invested in 3 sets: 1 percale from company store, 1 flannel from ll bean, and 1 bamboo from a smaller company that I can’t remember, but they were over $100 for a queen set so not cheap. The flannel and the percale are still like new even though I have one chubby cat who likes to pull herself up onto the bed by the claws; the bamboo are holding up the worst.   The difference between generations…

  I wear my dad’s flannel shirts a lot. They were bought at Sears and Penneys probably 20 years ago and are better quality than the current expensive stuff.
