Parents need all new kitchen appliances
Bosch, Miele, Jenn-Air, Wolf & Sub-zero. $5K will be extremely tight and likely be their lower end models though. I prefer the German brands personally but have good experiences with all except for Wolf & Sub-Zero which I haven’t owned.

You could add brands like Bosch, Miele, maybe Jenn-Air but agree $5k may get you 1 item not the whole set. Some of the refrigerators and stoves alone could be $10-15k each.

Any Market for a Jennair Downdraft Range for the 80s. The oven was used once or twice and water was boiled a handful of times. My Mother and Father In-law bought it new when they built their house in 1987. Looking to sell. We are gutting the Kitchen.
I have the same unit in my house. Great oven. I was a chef previously and this is a good unit. Don't let anyone convince you that electric stove top is not top notch. I don't know where you are located but I would be interested in buying it.

Since all modern refrigerators suck, what features would a BIFL fridge have?
I enjoyed finding that previous owners designed my kitchen around a uniquely shallow fridge that basically has no equivalent. The current version of this fridge (a Jenn-Air) is $13,000. Thus I paid $3000 for an "in-warranty" repair recently instead of replacing it with another one that would jut six inches out into my kitchen and block access to a drawer.

How do we feel about old ovens? Good/bad/ugly?
i don't like them but also i remember my parents hating them when we had an old oven and stove top at an old rental and they were so glad when they finally died and the landlord had to replace them My parents also got a really nice upgrade because the only new oven that would fit was a Jenn-Air modular downdraft
