Recommend a cutting board?
I won't reccomend sticking your wooden cutting boards into dishwasher aswell, due to high temps of water, your cutting board would end up losing its mosture and cracking over prolonged exposure, but ideally it's good switching to pure wood than continue using plastic cutting boards. I came across a similar situation aswell hearing how these boards leave microplastic that end up causing inflamation in the gut. You can check out [john boos cutting boards]( https://d3oc4tmn8qmbnq.cloudfront.net/?q=GMKAO1475). This one is pure wood, not too big and sleek enough I'd say, i'm personally into these rounded edge boards but that's again my opinion. I'd suggest you to compare multiple options before deciding.

Recommend a cutting board?
Ah, you’ve officially gone down the wood board rabbit hole. Just saying “wooden” isn’t enough, you’ve gotta pick the right type. Quick heads up: never throw it in the dishwasher unless you want splinters with your salad. Maple is tough and has a closed grain, so it holds up well to knife marks and is safer if you're prepping meat and veg on the same board. Cherry is the sweet spot, gentle on your knives, smooth grain, feels great to use but can dent a bit more easily. Walnut? Looks amazing, super lightweight, not the strongest, but great if you’re handwashing. Whichever you go for, [John Boos](https://grassrouteguide.com/dp-B003HY276QL) boards are a solid pick. They’re handcrafted, durable, and not outrageously priced. Just don’t go huge, if it’s too big to wash easily, you’ll end up skipping care and ruining it quicker.

What's the most expensive item you've bought with the intention of keeping it for life?
I have two John Boos butcher block tables , some heritage stainless steel pans, and some Japanese cutlery that I hope last my lifetime , I’ve been hearing that a lot while buying very intentional things lately. Idk how true but they better for how much they were lol
