What's something you've had forever that surprisingly outlasted its time ?
John Deere D100. Bought it used when we bought our first house with a big yard to get us through a couple of years. I’ve been so excited to upgrade but every year I walk into the shed after winter and it fires right up. I finally gave up and started actually doing maintenance. Oil looked like roofing tar when I changed it. Just works

What’s one product you bought that has lasted forever and was totally worth it?
Quality gas powered tools like my stihl chainsaw, husqavarna weed whacker, john deere lawn mower, generator. They will last as long as I take care of them.

What’s one product you bought that has lasted forever and was totally worth it?
John Deere push mower from the earlier 90s. SB14 with silver deck. Kawasaki engine. They don’t make them anymore, or any great models like that.

What did you buy not realizing you bought it for life?
Honestly, I bought a John Deere lawn tractor D110. It’s not a “real” Deere and not meant to last a lifetime but I have abused the heck out of it for 4-5 years and I don’t see it dying. I pull a trailer that weights 5x as much as the tractor. I mow a crappy yard and hit dirt and rocks on the regular. I kind of want it to die but it won’t.

BIFL Request: Snow Blowers, does electric hold up?
We are in West Michigan and picked up a $150 corded single stage model from scamazon. I wanted to make sure we got the biggest amperage for a slightly smaller swath. Absolutely no problem going through a 10" dump, goes through the slop at the end of drive from the plow with much more ease than my last two stage John Deere. It's very quiet, light enough that you don't get tired using it, starts every time I push the button, and I don't come back in reeking of exhaust. You have to pay attention to where the cord is, have a length that suits your purpose, and the chute is a little clunky. Other than that,we have had it for 5 years and have had zero issues. We won't be going back to gasoline models.
