What Snow Boots to Buy?
Love my Kamiks. I work ski lifts on weekends during the winter here in West Virginia, which is a humid cold with wet snow, and I've worn the same pair of Kamiks for years. They're super comfy and keep my feet warm even on below 0 days. I have the Nation Plus boots.

What are the warmest winter boots you've ever owned? Looking for recommendations
Kamik Tundra Insulated Rubber Boots for Men are by far the best winter boots for real work and life in the cold, wet winter. I go ice fishing and out in the woods in January in these. I wear the furlined Sorrel 1964's if I'm taking my stepson somewhere and don't want to embarrass him by looking like a French Canadian hick. Which I technically am.

What winter gear do you recommend?
I'm originally from Fargo, North Dakota and have been living in Iowa for the last 4 years so it's tough to talk specifically about New York. Being from the upper Midwest however, I'm well familiar with winter Weather. I have 2 purchases that have he's up well: Boots - I've been using the same pair of Kamik boots for about 12 years now. I've only had to do regular maintenance on it. I have some wear on these and they need replacing, but theyve lasted me about 8 years or so with heavy use. Looking for a durable winter boots that will truly last
It's a bit hard to recommend boots without knowing what you use them for and the environment your in. Personally I use several different types depending on the activity I am doing. Here in Canada, you want winter boots that will keep you warm at -30 c if your working outside or sledding, for that I have an old army pair of white mukluks for the really cold days and a pair of Solomon Toundras for activities that I need ankle support. For shoveling snow I have a 20 ish year old pair of slip on Kamik boots. As you can see use and environment is very subjective. Anything south of Toronto a good pair of Goretex boots would suffice.

Looking for water proof work shoes/boots
Kamik boots are pretty good, I have their winter boots (Greenbay 4) and they are definitely waterproof, very heavyweight and good for use in deep snow. Check out their rain boots.

Kamik makes amazing rain boots but not in the pretty colors for my size feet. 😭 When I next need some I might give in for the boring colors.

I have the same boots, but mine are only about 20 years old. If you've never replaced the inserts you should consider doing so. Kamik sells them on Amazon and the new set made my boots much warmer again.

Kamik winter boots when I was like 16 years old (I'm 39 now). They're about as basic as you can get with a thick black rubber lower / outsole, rough leather uppers, and a thick wool insert. They've kept my feet warm and dry through more than twenty Michigan winters. I would love to buy a new, fancy pair of winter boots, but I have no *real* reason to. These things just will not die.

Warning: Sorel Boots
I ended up trying a pair of Kamik after the ones we got for our kids held up really well. I’ve been pleasantly surprised to be honest. Friends have Baffin and love them though.

Sorel Boots. Bought in 1985. Changed the felt liners twice. Holding up great. The best snow boots!
