I'm not sure if I can put links in here but google kenwood restore kit or similar and it will come up. You can get a motor repair kit or upgrade to a new more powerful motor. Definitely worth repairing though, these things are built so well.

Kitchen System Recs?
Do you mean like a stand mixer with attachments? You can get a kitchenaid or a kenwood chef as a stand mixer, and they have food processor and blender attachments. Both are repairable, and (AFAIK) attachments can be used on newer and older systems (if you need to replace the mixer, you can use the same attachments). I personally have a \~20yo kenwood chef which is still going strong, and the attachments are great. The biggest downside is that the attachments are expensive - to get the stand-alone food processor attachment costs as much as the chef attachment.

Looking for a kitchen gadget that’s actually worth spending extra on
A good stand mixer that takes attachments. In the US everyone seems to recommend a KitchenAid, I personally prefer a Kenwood Chef. The main mixer will (should?) last decades, and the attachments can be bought or replaced as required, without needing to get a whole new machine. And if the machine does die, they can be repaired, or replaced and the attachments can continue to be used. It means instead of having an individual stand mixer, food processor, slicer/dicer, and blender, I have a single stand mixer with a drawer of attachments. And the stand mixer is 20 years old and still going strong.

Alternative to KitchenAid Professional Mixers? Or repair advice?
On BIFL alternatives, my kenwood chef is approaching 20 years old with zero issues, and has a huge amount of power (1000W). Looking online parts for mine are still available, but probably not all. New ones sold have a 10 year warranty - and they are usually a little cheaper than kitchenaids too (and are more powerful again at 1200W). A friend of mine has a kitchenaid that really struggles with dough, no such issues with the kenwood. The only criticism I have is for the food processor attachment, which is fiddily to take on and off, and the plastic under the blade has visibly worn.

Inherited my Kenwood Chef stand mixer from my mother in law. It is approx 50 years old. Cylinder vacuum cleaner, Panasonic, is 30 years or so old. Gelato Chef ice cream machine about 20 years. Russell Hobbs kettle more than 40 years.

What modern manufacturers still make long lasting BIFL-worthy items?
DeLonghi group's Braun and Kenwood small kitchen appliance brands remain surprisingly good. Manufacturing is now predominantly in China, but the QC seems to be pretty good. I buy some stuff to refurb and it's incredibly rare for the fault to be anything other than a damaged flex, and they're still generally built so they can be disassembled for repair.

Best Food Processor? Which brand is actually worth it?
UK based? Get a Kenwood Chef. Any age will do, but for best balance of cost vs parts availability I would go for an A901 or later. For slicing onions you'll want either the high speed slicer (A929 or A998) or low speed shredder (A928) Usually available on eBay for about £60-120 depending on condition and included accessories. I use mine almost daily for all manner of things (including but certainly not limited to; bread making, coffee grinding, smoothie/milkshake making, milling herbs/spices). There's tonnes of attachments for them for things like coffee grinding, pasta marking, grinding meat. The only one I don't rate is the potato peeler. The more modern ones are still built solidly too if you don't want to be messing about with 50 year-old machines. If you don't think you need the full stand mixer power unit experience, Kenwood's MultiPro line of food processors are also pretty solid, again eBay and usually about £60 for one in "unwanted wedding present" condition.

1970s Kenwood stand mixer, my grandad found it at a flea market and gave it to my mum in the early 90s. Any time I bake with it I’m transported to helping my mum bake and eating raw cake batter off the mixing hooks. It is my most treasured kitchen item.

1996 Maytag Dependable Care Washing machine. It's washed countless loads of laundry thru two generations of children, one generation of which used cloth diapers which generate a LOT of laundry... Probably has done over 10000 loads of laundry by now. Still works great, is washes very well and quickly too. Only repairs in 29 years of use was replacing the lower drum seal a couple years ago, and recently had to clean the contacts in the mechanical timer controls. Otherwise, it is a warhorse of a machine. I also do own a 1980 Kenwood Chef kitchen mixer, it works great as well, is built like a tank... Much sturdier than those modern KitchenAid mixers, but it only sees occasional use. Most likely it will outlast me.

KitchenAid my mother got as an engagement gift in 1977. She gifted it to me when I got engaged; still going strong.
My mother-in-law gave me her early 80s Kenwood Chef a few years ago. It was her second, after her mother's, which she had inherited, broke down in the days before you could easily order replacement parts online. This thing is still going strong. I've had to replace the food processor attachment, because they changed the design and I could no longer order just a replacement bowl, but otherwise it's rock solid. And all parts are still available. I often use it for two or three stages of dinner prep in the same evening. It's less attractive than a KitchenAid, but I swear it will outlast me. We have the blender, food processor, mini grinder, juicer, and pasta maker attachments. There's also a dicer, an ice cream maker, and several other options still available. This thing is MAGIC.

What's the oldest item you still use daily that has withstood the test of time, and what's its story?
My Kenwood stereo receiver & EQ. I bought a whole rack system over a few months in the early 90s. I haven't used the cassette player in a long time and the CD player quit working, but the EQ and receiver are solid as a rock. I crank a local radio station when I'm in my office. I used to have an Amazon Echo Dot hooked up to it, and might do it again.
