My kinco mittens i use for skiing. These have seen about 5 seasons of heavy tow rope usage. The right glove wore through and i put some harness tape on it and my dog chewed the thumb so i fixed that with harness tape too. That was 4 seasons ago
Kinco 901s? A person of culture, I see. Best ski purchase I ever made

Kincos are the absolute goats of the ski world. $30 gloves outperforming $150 ones every single time

Winter gloves in Canada
I never said kincos are the best. But they worked well considering the price and were better then the hestras that were 5 times the price lol.

Winter gloves in Canada
I worked a season as a ski and snowboard teacher. My colleague only ski teaching bought the hestras. I bought kincos. At the end of the season his hestras looked like shit and had holes in the non leather parts. My kincos looked fine. Honestly hestras are overrated and not even that warm. He had to buy extra lining gloves because they weren't warm enough most of the time.

Winter work gloves. Does anyone have experience with Duluth’s Durahog?
Union Ironworker from the Frozen Midwest here, I second the Kinco’s, especially their winter gloves. I snatch em up any time I see them on sale.

Winter work gloves. Does anyone have experience with Duluth’s Durahog?
We switched to Kinco this year (we're window cleaners) and so far we have been absolutely amazed at how effective they are.

Winter work gloves. Does anyone have experience with Duluth’s Durahog?
Ive been using Kinco gloves recently and they’re pretty awesome and relatively cheap. My hands get cold very easily and stay that way typically. Look up the different styles on their website then google the type you like to find the best price. Rural King sell a lot of them if you want to try them on

What brands do you trust?
Darn Tough socks are terrible if you have large feet and more heel girth. They pinch in the absolute worst spot. I personally like Stance socks way better, but they dont have a lifetime guarantee. At least I dont think they do. REI has become way overpriced and they have started to nitpick returns. Their membership 'garage' section is also too expensive and should be renamed 'garbage.' REI was great for a long time, but its just trash now. The cottage industry of ridiculously priced hipster hiking and camping gear forced me to just start making my own. Millennials seemed to have destroyed everything. I use leather Kinco work gloves and just waterproof them, for scrambling and hiking. It works pretty well. They cost like $10-20 depending if you want insulated gloves or not. I bought some 'tech' running/travel pants from Costco, I really dont know what they are I dont think they were Kirkland. They are kind of skinny strechy pants. But they are quick drying and make great climbing/hiking pants and cost less than $20 I hit up consignment stores and pawn shops a lot for outdoor stuff, I wanted a watch with a barometer and a GPS, that tracked my route but the newer ones are really expensive and required a subscription. I got an older model Suunto watch for like $20 that did everything I wanted, no required subscription. I also replaced my Suunto compass recently and noticed it was made in China, I compared it to a friends compass and it was off...So I returned it. I tracked down a used Suunto compass made in Finland, paid a fraction of what it cost new and its perfect. Now days the cheap brands seem to be better than the large name brands, and everything new is shit.

I'm a big fan of Flylow gloves, which are based on the classic Kinco gloves.

[Request] Leather Mittens
[Kinco 901T Ski Mitts](http://www.kinco.com/product/901t/) can be waterproofed with [Sno-Seal](http://www.atsko.com/sno-seal-wax-8-oz-jar/) or [Nikwax](http://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/products/productdetail.php?productid=25). They have a leather outer and wool inner (I believe it is wool) which acts like a liner glove. They're really comfortable and also very warm.

[BIFL Request] A good pair of mittens. Around 0 degrees and waterproof.
[Kinco 901T Ski Mitts](http://www.kinco.com/product/901t/) can be waterproofed with [Sno-Seal](http://www.atsko.com/sno-seal-wax-8-oz-jar/) or [Nikwax](http://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/products/productdetail.php?productid=25). They'll last a few seasons, are much cheaper than Hestra mittens and are used by ski instructors / ski maintenance workers because of how durable they are.
