What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?
Get a kingrinder P series for like 40 bucks. It's a crank, but it's better than the encore (I own both).

Even new you can find pretty decent ones around this price like entry level kingrinder, time more or even 1zpeesson q air.

Burr Grinder Recommendations
I got a kingrinder k6 and it’s great. It’s manual but it’s not an issue and I don’t regret getting it vs an electric grinder

The Best Coffee Maker on the Market to Buy?
Excellent point about a scale. Getting the right ratio of input coffee weight and output coffee drink will really help. The flavors change as you put more and more water through the coffee (or brew a given weight with more water), particularly for espresso, so if you find a ratio that tastes good it’s useful to know that ratio to reproduce it. Also the KINGrinder K6 is a good option for espresso _and_ pourover; it’s often suggested for both

The Best Coffee Maker on the Market to Buy?
First think about a grinder. That will have the biggest effect on the quality of your coffee (besides the beans themselves), whatever you use to make it. r/pourover and r/espresso (especially) are full of folks getting coffee makers and then realising they need a good grinder. And if you have one even the cheapest machines can give you amazing coffee. Most hand grinders above around $100 can be BIFL. For electric grinders Baratza is really good for repairs so more BIFL, and they have some nice espresso ones now. Those subreddits will have good buying advice, and you already have some good suggestions here. I have a Kinu Phoenix grinder and Flair 58 at home for espresso, and a KINGrinder K6 and a Ceado Hoop with NextLevel filters at work for pourover. I also have a Pulsar for pourover but I find the Hoop easier.

Unpopular opinion: AliExpress is great ... for some products, like simple metal items.
1zepresso, kingrinder, timemore are excellent coffee grinder brands, and they’re sold at aliexpress.

Where do I find a good manual coffee grinder?
Highly agree with this comment. I own a Kingrinder for specialty pour over and an 1zpresso for espresso. They're solid grinders that feel good to use. IIRC Kingrinder and 1zpresso are made by the same company (or in the same factory) but Kingrinder is meant to be sold to the East (Asia) while 1zpresso is meant to be sold in the West (Americas & EU).

Where do I find a good manual coffee grinder?
Depends on how you will be brewing, certain models are made for certain methods. For espresso i had a Kingrinder K4 (bought on sale on Amazon for $80) which I loved and used for years without issue before selling it. A more expensive BIFL brand in this realm would be Commandante C40. Check out the espresso and/or pour over subs for more in depth info!

Need a Coffee Maker Recommendation Under $100 CAD
I recently wanted to upgrade from my Kuerig to an epsresso machine. I did a lot of reasearcah, a lot of reviews, videos, etc. I tried multiple machines, I bought about 5 different ones. I settled on the Bamino, great machine. In all my research, I kept seeing the Aeropress mentioned. I clciked a a James Hoffman video on the Aeropress and learned they;re quite popular, like cult following popular. So I tried one. Game changer! I don't touch espresso anymore. I got a hand grinder (that was another rabbit hole, settled on the Kingrinder P2). Now I can make a great, freshly ground cup of coffee in about 5 minutes. Put kettle on, grind beans. Assemble Areopress, pour in grinds, then water. Stir gently, insert plunger so water doesnt leak out. Steep for 1 minute, shake it up to make floating grinds sink, steep another 30 seconds or so. Press slowly, the top up your cup with hot water. A great cup in under 5 minutes. $100 should get you an Aeropress and an okay grinder. The Aeropress makes good coffee with pre-grounds, too.
