  Alaska snowmobile trip

  Born and raised up here in Alaska and I’ve spent a fair amount of time riding and working in the cold. For that trip I would look into what the Irondog guys are wearing when they race. Lots of guys wear Klim gear. You’ll want to lay up. As for boots I’d look for military surplus bunny boots. I wouldn’t buy the new Alaska gear bunny boots as I haven’t been hearing great reviews. What are your plans for sleeping? You hauling tent and sleeping bags? What snowmobilea are you guys riding?

  Yeah when you get those kind of temps, your not gonna be breathing under the coat. And too many layers will equal no mobility. Think Michelin man. I would look at kuiu. The best tips are gonna be to keep your feet and your neck warm. Klim Arctic balaclava is a good one. Darn tough makes hunting socks that are super thick. Whatever you do, DO NOT WEAR STEEL TOES! You will regret ever being born it hurts that bad.

  Men's rain jacket that's actually waterproof

  My motorcycle gear has been undefeated at keeping rain out. It’s also made to get beat up in the wind and weather, since the whole point is to be outdoors at 60-90mph without even a windshield in front of you. The tradeoff is that the entry level stuff heats up easily, but they seem sturdy too and I stay totally dry. I think I paid $25 each for the Nelson or Oxford brand separates at a store when I didn’t have my “real” gear on me. If you spend BIFL money you can get some serious stuff from Klim, Dainese, Alpinestars, Rev’it or Tourmaster. Klim in particular makes great snowmobile gear, and they seem to emphasize water resistance more than most. This includes a 5 hour ride 150mi from a hurricane that was making landfall, so we had tons of rain and wind but no lightning. It’s still in great shape 5 years and several road trips later. You probably don’t need the Kevlar fabric or D30 armor that drives the price up to $1400 on that one, but I’d buy Klim’s regular rain gear for sure in the future.

Memory foam tips block out enough noise that the mic doesn't pick up like your neighbor's lawnmower, and they're comfortable enough for longer calls. They're definitely better than whatever free earbuds come with random electronics. Tho not gonna compete with apple's wired ones for mic clarity but for a backup pair you can toss it in your bag without crying if they break plus they do the job.
