My belt got rubbed off after a short backpacking trip. What belt do you have that lasts?

Kore belt. They're pretty stiff, but I'm sure that's why they hold up so long

Leather seems to be the consensus on this thread but I agree with you. Kore belts are fantastic. I have one that is 4+ years old in a more dressed down style and I bought another about 1.5 years ago in a more dressy style to wear with button downs and the like. Neither show any sign of wear on the belt material or on the micro adjustment channel. Unless one of them has a catastrophic failure I see them both easily going 10+ years.

Recommendations for a Men’s belt with a “ratchet” clasp?
I have 30+ ratchet belts from a variety of brands (Mission, Anson, Kore, Falari, Travis Mathew, Black Clover, Cuater, etc) and the Missions seem to hold up the best, especially the steel buckles & nylon leather-backed straps. A few years ago Mission tweaked the mechanism in their buckle to make em stronger and give em a little more design versatility, tho tbh I never had a problem with the original design. Black, matte, and powder coated buckles from all the brands seem to damage more easily/visibly than the plain steel or color plastic-fronted buckles. Shout-out to Anson for making a 4-belt hanger tho, works with other brands as well.

Men's Ratcheting Belt
Mission belts seem to be the most reliable IMO, especially the steel buckles & nylon leather-backed straps. The black, matte, and powder coated buckles from all the brands damage more easily/visibly than the plain steel or color+coated buckles. Also, Anson has a pretty handy multi-belt hanger if you wanna hold 4 at once.
