What’s something you’ve bought once and never had to replace?
I have over twenty years on a Land's End squall jacket. It was my only winter coat for several years and is still my main one. That said, I am in SC and only use a winter coat three months out of the year.

What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?
I have a Land's End bathrobe that I bought some years ago. Unfortunately, they do seem to have changed quality since then. The fits are also slimmer and not so bulky or oversized.

Out of the box, Lands End pima polos look and feel like the nicest ones I've ever owned. How well have they held up for you?
I have been a long time Land's End customer, especially the polo shirts. The one pima polo shirt that I got wore very well, but I found it to be too warm in the summer. My current favorite is the "comfort-first" fabric, which has 3% spandex, and gives it better shape, wear and fit. My dilemma is that I need a pocket for pens and notes, and it seems that LE is not offering shirt pockets on the comfort-first polos, a big mistake in my opinion. Land's End, bring back the "comfort-first" polo with pocket!

Winter gear for northern germany
Personally, I've had a squall jacket by Land's End for over 5 years now, with almost daily use, and it is still completely watertight and servicaeable, [this one's similar](http://www.landsend.de/de_DE/Squall-Segeljacke-fuer-Herren/pp/P_32404.html?cgid=Tab_1) only that mine's black. I combine it with a watertight hat, that way I do not need an umbrella at all. Also their heavier [squall parka](http://www.landsend.de/de_DE/Klassischer-Squall-Parka-fuer-Herren/pp/P_32156.html?cgid=Tab_1), which has to be said though that I simply cannot wear it in plus-temperatures, since it's just too warm, but in temps of -5 to -25 C it really comes into its own. Good luck with whatever you pick.
