Looking for a couch that is actually worth the money- why does it feel impossible?
If you can get the sofa for $300 or less you can make this work. Expect the upholstery labor cost to be around $1200 not including fabric choice or foam. You will want to replace the foam in a 60s/70s sofa. Fabric will range from $25-150/yd (or more) depending on your taste. Most upholstery shops will have books for you to look through. I had a mid century modern sofa I was planning to reupholster when I found one on Facebook marketplace that was made in 2013 and had the same shape as my sectional. I was searching for years for a new sofa and one day at work I checked marketplace and there she was. Key in brands like Rowe (that’s what I have) Lee, Kravet, & Norwalk. These are all US made furniture brands that use quality materials and frame structures, most of which are custom made for clients. Some big box stores like Serena & lily use Lee frames.

Updated women’s jeans list!
Have you heard of Wrangler and Lee? This is one very top brand that majors on quality female clothes, especially women jean trousers. You do not have to look so far , because they offer quality rugged jeans that would have passed for a work wear, meaning that if they were to be worn to work daily, that means the quality is very good.

Levi's jeans failed after 2 years - what are the best hard wearing jeans that will last longer?
I've had the best experience with Lee and Wrangler. I used to swear by Levi but they're so uncomfortable now.

Levi's 501 are now half off, are they still good quality or they're not worth it?
I've had great luck with Lee (full cotton ones)

Plain tshirt brands other than fast fashion influencer peddled crap.
Upvoted! Even being a woman I agree with this. I showed this comment to my kid coz I’m not very articulate in expressing myself. Very well put. Hate fast fashion. It’s so ugly that after a short while people that bought it can’t stand it. Always been my motto is to buy it for life. I’ve got a Lee cotton top in 2006 which my kid is wearing. Such good timeless piece still hasn’t fallen apart and looks old but good. 100% cotton.

What’s one thing you bought once and it’s still going strong years later?
My LEE reloading press turned 30 this year, its made 50,000+ rounds of ammo and still presses as straight as it must have done new.

Men’s Jeans Recommendations
There’s an athletic cut of an American jeans brand that I really love — and the way the seams meet at the crotch is entirely different than any pair of jeans I’ve ever owned. * **Lee** - Extreme Motion MVP *Athletic Fit - Tapered Leg I’ve got two pair, and I swear they might end up lasting 2x or even 3x longer than any pair of jeans I’ve owned in the last 25 years. (I too have excessive wear right in the crotch.) I think this is them (or at least it’s their entire “extreme motion MVP” line. https://www.lee.com/shop/men-featured-shops-extreme-motion-mvp
