  People forget how insane cases used to be. I used to use a [Lifeproof case](https://www.amazon.com/LifeProof-FRE-iPhone-Waterproof-Case/dp/B005WUHAX8?th=1) that was basically a vault for my phone. I now just use a thin silicon case, and that's only because it has a stand/magnet on it. My old iphone broke because of a drop of water from my wet hand, and another got knocked off a low table and broke. My current galaxy s21 had gotten wet multiple times in the rain, and and has been dropped hundreds of times with only minor scratches.

  Which one is better? Used to use Otterbox Defenders.

  Personally I haven't encountered any issues. I bought my first Life Proof before Otter box bought them out. I can't say whether it's just my luck or the Life Proof design might actually be better than the one you bought. Once the thing gets cracks it's hard to tell how much longer you have left. I'd probably be more willing to get a case if the case worked on the next phone I would get. Problem is most cases are specific to the version and probably wouldn't work on the next phone.

  Which one is better? Used to use Otterbox Defenders.

  I've always used Life Proof cases which are currently sold by Otter box. They also have a lifetime warranty so when my wife tore her rubber plug that covers the power input they sent us a replacement case after I sent them a picture of the damaged case.
