  Best automatic litter box?

  I've had various Litter Robot brand models in use for almost 5 years and I've had no safety issues with them. I started out with the LR3, it was basic and had safety features that worked for the most part. They upped the safety game with added safety features with the LR4 and now with the LR5. The 4 halts its cycle if a cat sticks it head in the globe to take a peek and or getting in the globe, it will wait till the cat leaves before resuming the cycle. It has anti pinch and waste drawer intrusion detectors that work and causes the globe To position its waste port over the waste drawer for quite a while if there is a waste drawer movement detected. The app works well and you can recover the functionality of the 4 and 5 remotely if by rare chance there was a error. So I personally think you will be quite satisfied with the Litter Robot, i do suggest the LR4 or 5 if you get one.   What was the best purchase you made this year?

  We’ve had our litter robot for almost two years now and even replaced the liner a few months ago. Love it and refuse to go without one now!

  Automatic Litter Boxes

  No automatic litter box is going to be for life. There are moving parts, fecal and urine clumps being moved around, and small particulates in the litter. I’d be happy if ours lasted 5 years. I have the Litter Robot 4 and am quite happy with it. It does not have a subscription and AI. I might consider that on sale vs a new LR5

  What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?

  I love our litter robot so much. Also having issues with our litter hopper, it malfunctions every other day. I have to pull it off and vacuum out the back of it and put it back on. I don’t know if I’d bother with the hopper again if repurchasing (although it is wonderful when it works). I’ve tried all sorts of litter, so I’m kind of stumped as to what’s going on with it.

  Litter robot. They work great they honor their warranty. They have customer service. They have an helpline. I’ve actually used the warranty. I’ve bought parts replace parts years and years down the road. Litter robot.

  What are the pros and cons of the Litter Robot?

  Got the LR4 for my 3 cats—no regrets. Kills odor, cleans right after they hop out, and the app nags me when it’s time for a deep clean. Expensive, but it works.   100% litter robot. People acted like we were crazy to spend that kind of money on a litter box, but it’s so worth it. Ours doesn’t even run automatically, we just keep it on sleep mode and “flush” when the cat is with us and can’t see the robot (the spinning freaks her out still). Still totally worth it. My brother made fun of me for spending $1400CAD on a full package for the robot, but he just bought an entire townhouse with a backyard just for his dog so I don’t think he can judge.

  Ever Bought Something That Quietly Changed You?

  Good answer! We got our Litter Robot 2 in 2006, and it was in daily service until 2023 when it started to have intermittent trouble. Got a different used LR2, and will install some refurb parts on our original base to get it back in-shape.

  Yes, exactly! I have a litter robot, auto feeder, and water fountain so maintenance is about every 5 days. I just got a new robot vac with a mopping function so I'm excited to not have to go on a cleaning rampage the minute I get back from a weekend away!

  Litter Robot, hands down. I have 3 cats, this has been one of the best 'big' purchases I've made. I'm also a really, really big fan of my air fryer. It took me years to jump on the air fryer bandwagon, but I'm a total convert there. Fave thing to make, roast potatoes.

  I’m not familiar with the cat box you named but I absolutely love my litter robot and the customer service is absolutely out of this world. I had a motor go out on my litter robot I think like 4 years after I had bought it (I have four sphinx cats, they use it absolutely recklessly - way more than a typical cat) and I was an entire year outside of the warranty period and they still just sent me over a new motor, no questions asked. They made me a customer for life that day.

  Best Automatic Kitty Litter Box

  I settled on an automatic litter box that really worked for my four cats. I ended up with a Litter-Robot 3 Connect after trying a few different options. It manages odor control well enough and I only find myself needing to empty it about once or twice a week.
