  Comfy boots I can buy in the UK

  There's a million options out there. My personal collection consists of all UK made shoes although none are what you would call a military boot. .John Whites: decent but nothing special, stiff leather sole. .Lanx: my newest pair, super comfy straight of the rip . Sanders & Sanders: again solid boots although I've put a hole in the leather liner of one pair but they are my most worn. .Loake: not boots but again a nice budgetish UK made shoe, note they do run a little small from my limited experience. .Crockett and Jones: again not boots but has such soft supple leather. Side note, the wife uses a pair of doc martins that have been in use for at least 10 years. They are hammered and at the end of their life but the new ones she's bought to replace them aren't the same. Not Goodyear welted and feel a definite down grade.

  Men's dress shoes recommendations

  bruno marc is basically entry-level. they look good, they’re cheap, but they’re not lifetime shoes. for someone who’s gonna wear them once in a while, totally fine. for everyday, they’ll wear out and start hurting pretty fast. that said, they're a good entry point into testing out what works for you. if you want something that lasts, look into goodyear welted shoes, allen edmonds in the us, loake or meermin if you’re fine with ordering online.

  Anyone know of good quality, ok priced Oxford shoes? (UK)

  For £150 you could opt for a used pair of ‘good’ shoes - maybe some Crockett & Jones or Trickers (or if you’re lucky John Lobb or Edward Green perhaps, but they tend to go for more). Trickers will last and last if that’s what you’re looking for. Sliding down the scale a little you’d definitely get some Barkers or Loake, maybe two or three pairs for your money. You’ll could also consider brands like Grenson and Cheaney, but in my experience they tend to be more fashion forward and less well made. If you want new - Charles Tyrwhitt sell their own brand Oxfords for £149 - their ‘Made in England’ line are made for them by Barker, their other lines are Loake.

  You're in the UK so you're lucky enough to have shoemakers all around you. Biggest questions for you are what style you want and how much you're willing to spend. [NPS/Solovair](https://uk.nps-solovair.com/) (made in Northampton) have a wide selection of decently priced boots and shoes of varying styles. Some of their shoes even use high-quality Dainite soles made near Leicester. Then you've got luxury brands like [Church's](https://www.church-footwear.com/gb/en.html) \- the shoes James Bond wore. [Loake ](https://www.loake.com/)have been around for over 100 years and have a reputation for quality.

  Take care of your shoes: Before / After - $3 Loake Chester Brogues

  I have a gorgeous pair of Loakes I inherited from my grandad who passed in 2010 when I was a teenager. They had been his formal shoes I believe since the 90s. They fit me perfectly, and still do. Those shoes have seen me through 4 proms, every formal event since high school, and I still wear them at nearly 30. I had them reworked for cheap at an old cobbler in college, which I'll probably do again soon, but I will keep them forever.

  Redditors, what do you regret?

  I just purchased a pair of Loake 1880 Dovedale boots and also a pair of Loake 1880 Chester brogues. I am in shoe bliss now, such a world of difference to anything I have ever owned
