  Seconding. Lovesacs are expensive AF but they are legitimately comfy and hold up forever. Very cleanable and modular. If you decided you wanted to try it with, say, a loveseat or 3 seater first, you can always add on to it later.

  Definitely don’t order Anabei for your main couch. I have a chair with an ottoman from them and it’s fine but I don’t love it. I have a Love Sac sectional and love it! I’ve had it for 5 years now

  And since it is modular, you can augment with buying any missing pieces from Lovesac directly! We paid a fortune for sofas for our living room from pottery barn when we moved into our house a few years ago. A year or so later we converted our bonus room to a theater and went with Lovesac, and we love them! So much better than pottery barn! I wish we went with Lovesac in the living room, too.

  The assembly is tedious, time consuming, and difficult (bloody knuckles and sore hands are common). A lot of people complain about spending thousands on a couch and then 5 hours+ to assemble it. But that's also what makes it modular and fully washable. I'm typing this while sitting on a 4 year old Lovesac and plan on keeping this couch for the next decade at least.

  I do love my lovesac. At Christmas I reconfigure the pieces for the tree. I bought mine 5 years ago and replaced all the back cushions this year, same covers just new fill parts. In about 2 years I’ll probably do all the seats, so $1200 back into the thing over 5-7 years and it’s still looking brand new.

  This really depends on your home and who is in it. If you’re a single lady with an old cat that will determine the couch. If you are older mumsy with multiple teens that is a different sofa. If you’re are transforming your place to be a Airbnb thats a different sofa as well. The people that live on the sofa should drive you to what to buy. Toddlers? Get the slipcover ikea or lovesac. Retired and TV buffs? Thats the Hooker recliners sofa and love in leather. We get you’re exhausted, but we need some context to help you. What IS YOUR LIVING SITUATION???

  We’ve had a lovesac sections for 10 years (the first 5 without kids, second 5 with and still going strong so far.) It’s quite pricey, not sure I would’ve been brave enough to spend that kind of money on a couch if I already had kids.. but so far so good

  We got a LoveSac Sactional with a similar situation (2 kids under 5, 2 cats, and a dog). It is still with us now. The removable covers are a cakewalk to wash. If you need to replace a cushion you can just buy the cushion (and twice LoveSac has sent me a free one when I reach out). And, once they get older you can always buy a new cover set and feel like you have a brand new couch.

  What’s the most comfortable and durable furniture you own?

  I have a 15 year old Hancock and Moore soda and recliner that still look great. I also have a lovesac sofa that's 10 years old that's in great shape. I love being able to remove the covers from the cushions and wash them. The foam is still in great shape and its convenient to be able to move pieces around easily if needed.

  I paid $3kish for my lovesac modular couch back in 2016.  It is still alive and well and serves as a very comfortable guest bed now.  The cost is definitely about quality. We've fully washed every cover that comes off of that couch multiple times with no sign of wear.  We are also a household of two adults and, previously, two cats. So its not like we were rough housing on it.

  I love the customization possibilities on lovesac. We have had ours for only 1 year but have washed the seat covers a few times. I do not suggest the soft fill, it’s not supportive at all, the regular cushions are better for a daily use couch. There are lots of online reviews and storerooms. We bought one of their longtime fabrics and a lot of the pieces are the same sizes so you can rotate cushions and stuff like that. The hard pieces have a lifetime warranty and the soft pieces have a 3 year warranty. I like that we can add onto it if we want, mostly because it’s expensive. There is a tool you can use to pull on the covers-worth it!

  Lovesac sectional sofa, my Wustoff kitchen knives, my Yeti rambler. Every day. Sofa shows zero wear after 5 years. Knives are like new after 35 years, and that Yeti is perfect for smoothies, and cold or hot beverages.

  Came here to say this. We have a 7 seat piece lovesac sectional and it’s great. Easy to wash cushions because of cat hair and easy to replace a cushion if needed. We’ve built ours over the course of over a decade so little investment at a time since it’s so expensive.

  I know this post is old, but I'm looking into getting a bean bag for my sun room, and everything is cheap looking AND pricey. I decided to took a look at Love Sac, and the price smacked me in the face. I bought a sectional (sac-tional), so I shouldn't have been surprised by the price. I also can confirm that the quality of the sofa is top tier. I probably won't need to buy another sofa. I probably won't be getting the Love Sac any time soon because of current finances, but I will probably get one if we decide to commit long-term to bean bag life.

  Seconding the Lovesac Sactional. We got ours in the summer of 2020 and are kind of tough on our furniture. It gets heavy use. My kid puked on it once, but we had the covers off and in the washing machine in under 10 min. That alone made it worth the price, according to my husband. It was a major purchase for my household even with the 40% pandemic discount they had going on. I look at it as an investment. It is not a perfect couch, but it is so customizable that I think most folks can find a configuration & covering combo that aligns with their tastes.

  I weighed 200 pounds more than I do now when we got ours and I’m still quite overweight and have not had issues like this. I think it’s the material they got. We didn’t get ours from Costco. We got directly from lovesac during a big sale. With my weight and having kids and pets, they steered us towards the material we got because it’s much more durable and water resistant and such. I’m thinking the Costco version just has the weaker option for material.

  Yeah same experience here. I have had my regular non-sactional Sac for 15 years. Rhinoplush chocolate velvet, I think similar to the padded velvet now? It's moved with me 6 times. Lived with (and loves by) a dog, various former roommates, etc. The cover looks new frankly. It goes in the laundry machine every once in a while. When the dog was a puppy I put the inner sac in a waterproof king-size bed cover in case of house training incidents. I added a box of extra fluff once when the foam was getting a bit old compressed. But my cover is decidedly BIFL. I sometimes think about getting a different cover to change up the look (as I recall I got the chocolate brown color because it was on sale). But then I see posts like OPs and decide "nope, I'm Rhinoplush for life".

  What are you doing to these covers?? We’ve had our same covers for like 7+ years, I use a brush vacuum attachment to get cat hair/litter and you can only kinda tell. But I find it’s too much trouble to frequently take them off and wash them. Have washed some individual covers here and there.

  The same thing happened to mine, I got new covers, and now I don’t put them in the dryer. I just hang them to dry and then I put them on an air fluff cycle in the dryer once they are mostly dry. They’ve held up much better.

  I agree with someone above that I don’t expect the textiles to last for life, or the cushion inserts really, but a quality couch is very expensive and I would rather replace bits and pieces as needed. I consider ‘fixable’ to be buy it for life. Anything that is good requires some maintanence or cleaning, right? That is me doing my part. Part of buyitforlofe is the ‘eco’ part of part replacement too, not throwing a whole couch away because one cushion cover is gross.I love that lovesac can replace any specific piece, move easily, and washable. Being able to wash the cushion covers and having seat cushion protecter liners has saved me many times in just two years. Senior dog, no kids, but sometimes stuff happens and I also like being able to wash everything! Good for my allergies too. I did not find any other sturdy couch that was fully washable like this without it being fully slipcovers

  I didn’t get the velvet and my covers have been holding up fine. I ordered a whole new set of a different color/fabric from a guy named Matte Black who owns a store called Discount Bros in IL. He’s totally legit, he gets the Lovesac returns and resells them at a steep discount. I found him on the Lovesac Marketplace: Buy, Sell, or Tips Facebook page. I went to the Lovesac store to get fabric samples and the saleslady there even recommended him to me over buying from the store! You won’t get any warranty though if that’s important to you.

  I mean it's our main couch so it gets a lot of use. We do rotate the cushions every couple months. You can't flip the seat cushions because the zippers on the other side. We wash the covers maybe twice a year, just because it is a pretty big hassle since you have to hang to dry. It takes a ton of space to dry them. We went with the super soft filling which might have been a mistake because the cushions are all kind of misshapen and stuff after a few years. Which isn't a huge problem but it does make the couch look a little frumpy. It's still a pretty comfortable couch and the actual construction of it is solid and I feel like the frame will last forever unlike other modern furniture but yeah I am extremely disappointed about the delamination of the upholstery layers.

  Sorry that's happening. I assume you've been washing them according to instructions, and not increasing the water temp or putting them in the dryer? My lovesac sectional covers have generally held up great for nearly 8 years, but they've discontinued this fabric, so if I ever want to add any pieces or replace any of the covers, I'll need to do a full set replacement. That said, they absolutely **do** sell individual covers for each type of piece! So in your case, you can just replace the back pillow covers. No need to do the entire set.

  I don't know how to salvage the covers, but if it helps my wife was able to speak directly to Lovesac and arrange for new covers when we decided to replace the fabric covers on our couch, not for your issues but for destruction from cats. Giving them a call may help?

  Looking for a VERY pet friendly couch

  Get a Sactional from Lovesac. I have two dogs and two cats and it's been great with them. Some of their covers are a better style/fabric for pets than others. They're infinitely flexible for whatever space, very configurable, and they work for the four 6'4" people in my family. Great warranty.

  LoveSac Sactional, is it worth it?

  I have two and will probably buy a third for our Beach House soon… I think people either love it or hate it , and you just need to know what you’re getting when you buy it! Most of the complaints are that you have to assemble it yourself… I love slip covers. I have always had a slipcover sofa so I’m used to it… but that’s also where you get the washability and the ability to move it from room to room or change the configuration… It makes me crazy when people complain about the two MAJOR selling factors of this couch! Our second one we bought a 4 seat from Costco and two extra seats and deep sides directly from Lovesac to make it a deep seat and still get all the bonus stuff from Costco. The fabric matched perfectly and it was about a year in between the purchases… other companies have issues with dye lots or fabric, not matching and fading-we didn’t have that I’m not in love with the Costco fabrics that were offered, but it was for the kids room and so lately I’ve been running to different showrooms to collect enough covers to replace my couch cover with something I love I’ve washed it , we’ve moved with it, and it’s stood the test of time… for movie nights or when the kids are home sick we put a bedsheet on to just contain the crumbs and keep it a little bit cleaner and it becomes a king size bed With the deep configuration, you can add all of the pillows that you want to provide back support or take them off and release sink into the couch to read a book None of the covers are waterproof, so if you have babies, milk and spit up will go right through into the cushion …. but all of the stains have washed out really easily… a couple times I used a little bit of diluted dish soap to scrub and the stain lifted right out But the couch has survived young children into teenagers where another couch may not have lasted that long! Look at some of the hacks that have been posted regarding storage or beds, etc That that’s the reason we have more than one of these!

  Second this as well! OP, Lovesac also sells a “bedding kit” with a mattress topper and sheets to fit a 4 seat/4 side sactional setup. It’s not a necessity by any means but makes it feel more like an actual bed/mattress if that’s something you’re concerned about.

  Cookware: If you have a gas cooktop, you can’t beat a 12” Lodge Cast Iron Skillet. I did 80-90% of my cooking in that one pan. On an electric, I hated Misen, but am loving Hexclad Mattress: I went Helix Elite. Absolutely no regrets. Previously had Casper that I had to put a $400 topper on, and the Helix is FAR superior. Sofa: LoveSac. Comfortable, durable, customizable. Outstanding.

  We have a Love Sac Sactional. If you’re in the US, sometimes they are on sale at costco. What I like about this brand is that you can buy pieces and covers separately. They are washable and you can change your fabric for less than a new couch. Ours is four years old and still looks great.

  Second the Lovesac.. mine is still fairly young (3years) but it's flexibility in how many ways we can arrange it is fantastic. Sometimes we have it configured as essentially a bed and sometimes as a regular couch (when we have visitors). We have cats so the ability to be able to take off and wash the covers is really essential. They have even come out with waterproof covers! Which I wish I'd bought sooner since one of the cats ruined one of the cushions when he was sick. Fortunately I was able to go back to Lovesac and replace the one cushion.

  Probably worth comparing cost of re-upholster to cost of new BIFL couch. Lots of folks in this sub praise Lovesac sectionals. The frames are lifetime warranty (the cushions are not lifetime warranty IIRC) and have replaceable covers. Ours has been good for ~5 years with kids but no dogs. Defer to others on how they’ve held up with dogs and longer timeframe.

  Couch… thoughts on Restoration Hardware…

  RH to me has always felt like on a $2000 item, you’re paying for $1000 in quality and $1000 for the brand. If you’re not sold on leather, we’ve been loving our Sactional (lovesac). If you are sold on leather… look for something full grain, not top grain, with a hardwood frame. For a big couch, I would be suspect if it’s under $4k. Something you MIGHT consider is find an old school couch and get it re-upholstered. My parents have a couch that my dad’s parents got as a wedding present. It’s probably 100 years old. It’s been refinished one or twice, not the MOST comfortable in its current state, but honestly not bad and it’s built like a tank.   Seconding Lovesac 🙋‍♀️ We have had ours nearly 5 years and it looks brand new and we are kinda hard on our furniture. Definitely an investment but it has so many perks. My kid barfed on it once and we had the contaminated cover parts off and into the wash in mere moments. My husband said that experience alone convinced him we got our money’s worth.

  Lovesac “sactional” couches are amazing. Modular, tons of covers, easy to add on but where it pulls ahead is in replacements. Kid or pet damages a cover you can wash or replace it. If the cushion is damaged you can get a new one. Want to redecorate the room but your current color doesn’t work? You can just get new covers and it’s like having a new couch. Expensive at full price but they often run discounts and specials. Every once in a while you can check in the with the stores and see if they have any floor model covers that are discounted at 70% off. We’ve had ours for 6 years and even with two kids and two dogs it looks and feels like new. 10/10 I’m so glad I bought it after spending the same price buying 3 couches that didn’t last half as well.

  I'm not going to say it is buy it for life. But my Lovesac has held up really well. It is very expensive but after 5 years it is basically brand new. Modular so there isn't a frame to break. Covers come off to wash. And if a seat really gets destroyed just take it out and rearrange it. You can change the look with different covers and material too. I'm not sure why I would ever get another couch.

  Searching for BIFL Couch?

  Lovesac makes couches in addition to their huge beanbag chair thingies. They are modular and you can swap out worn/stained parts. This always appealed to me to be able to maintain a couch for longer if you have pets or kids.. and you can reconfigure them and make the same couch work differently for different spaces if you move or want to change your setup!

  Maybe not totally "For Life" - but we bought a LoveSac "Sactional" a few years ago and it's held up remarkably well given how hard our family is on it. Several friends have them too and they've overall been really happy with them. Definitely built way better than the Costco/big box store couches, without going all crazy custom.

  Sectional with Washable Covers? (US)

  In my experience, Lovesac is the only company out there with any real history of supporting their product long term. Odds are that you won't need replacement covers or new pieces until 5-10 years down the line. will the company still be around? Will they still support your make and model? Cozey was launched in 2020 Sundays was launched in 2019 I struggle to pull their names from memory, but I remember at least two other "fully modular" couch companies that were born and died within the past 5-6 years. I personally own multiple lovesac pieces, and would agree that their prices are borderline insane (I'd never buy a *new* couch from them), but if you are looking for long term support and compatibility, I think anything else is a gamble.

  LoveSac sectional sofas come in like regular sized boxes. They're really glad quality and can be reconfigured for your current space and for a new space. It's not a fold out sofa, but can be pretty comfy for sleeping on.

  What’s one item you bought that has lasted for YEARS and was worth every penny?

  So, since I bought this thing, I’ve moved 4 times, and each time I’ve been able to arrange it a little differently to fit the new living room. I don’t redo my house like ever, but I do move a lot, relatively (former military). Yeah, they’re pricey, especially if you need a bunch of pieces (it’s sold by the piece) for a large living room. But I’d argue the price is pretty close to any high quality furniture. You can buy only what you need, and if you move to a bigger place, buy extra pieces to make the couch longer, turn it into a sectional, add a chaise, etc. it’s quite versatile. And if you buy official Lovesac replacement cushions, the basic foam inserts are $125 apiece full price and there’s a $265 option that is stuffed with down; I don’t have those but I might give em a shot next time, if they last longer. For two seat cushions and two back cushions, which is my current arrangement, that’s about $500 to completely refresh for ~3 years given my usage, maybe more, depending on your usage or tolerance of worn cushions. So, it’s not cheap and there is ongoing maintenance every few years. No seat cushions last forever. I’ve never needed to replace an actual seat or side piece and still have the original covers (which are washable), despite having gone through two kids and a ridiculous number of animals (there are some cat scratches, but that just comes with the territory). Bonus: since they’re flat and everything comes apart, a 2-seat sactional doubles as a twin size bed and a 4-seat setup rearranged to 2x2 is queen sized. I’ve had many guests rave about sleeping on this thing! It’s really easy to take it apart and put it back together or rearrange it, which is also great for cleaning. One more thing: the pieces are bigger than you think, so be sure to measure what will fit in your living room before buying. All in all, it’s pretty versatile and, for my needs, it’s worked really well for a very long time. It’s also pretty awesome that Lovesac has been around for a long time and, while they don’t make my specific covers anymore, they still sell everything else. Doesn’t seem like they’re going anywhere anytime soon. Those prices I quoted were from looking it up just now.

  I am in woodworking school right now and plan to make most of my own stuff, but I still own a LoveSac Sactional. Love them. This is my second (not due to breaking but due to the other one being in Hawaii and it not making sense to ship, and I wanted angled sides and new covers anyway). There’s something real nice about being able to lay down multiple people on a couch.

  I’m a big fan of LoveSac. I have two sectionals set up in our house. We don’t rearrange them often, but when we moved they were easily reconfigured to fit two new spaces. We have pets, and the washability is great. The covers aren’t cat-proof, but they are easily replaceable. I also have two massive teenage sons that are not gentle on furniture, and no structural problems to date. Nothing about them is inexpensive, though you should never buy without 30% off. Heroes discount stacks and is easy to obtain (at least for my education-professional wife). Replacement covers are costly, but I’m going on 6 years with my first set. We’ve only replaced one arm cover where a cat confused it for a scratching post for several months. I find them comfy, and stylish enough. Not suited for traditional decor, IMO, but fine for a family home with modern/eclectic decorating. They are

  Anyone seen lovesac couches? I've been tempted. We have a chinelle couch reclining couch from Ansley called "emerald". After 4 years, I am NOT impressed. The couch literally is too hard to sit on causing back pain, and the place where your knees go is sloped to nothing.   Second for Lovesac. I find it quite comfortable and the modularity works great for our family. The machine washable covers are great for kids and dogs. Great piece of mind knowing I can replace something damaged without losing the entire couch. It’s some work to put together but the frame for each section comes as a single piece so it’s much more solid than flat pack junk. You’re just putting the cushions/covers on and attaching the sections together. I’d highly recommend the showroom if there’s one near you. It was great to be able to try out the options and understand any considerations and we made our selection.

  I’ve had my lovesac for 2 or 3 years. The modularity came in clutch when a pipe burst under my floor and flooded the house. We were able to move the couch from destruction fairly quickly. Obviously this is an anomaly, but definitely made me appreciate the couch more. Only downside is I bought a dark gray cover, and I’m trying to get out of my millennial gray phase— the cost to replace the covers is a few grand.

  Cozey: some random couch company you probably get ads for in Canada

  We just bought one but 2 month wait time. Lovesac isn’t available in Canada. It was close in style and construction e.g. modular, real wood construction, can buy replacement or additional pieces/sections/covers, etc. good reviews in general. Everything else /other options all had limited reviews as well or didn’t have the features we wanted eg modular, customizable, fabric choices, convertible into a bed etc etc. and/or were the same cost but we couldn’t actually try it out in person. I’ll let you now in 6 months to a year.

  I have only heard horror stories from the pottery barn family since 2020. I had a west elm couch (among other furniture) and it was all poorly made. The couch pilled everywhere and the paint on the bedframe and nightstands peeled off within a year. Have heard good things about lovesac!

  I am loving my lovesac at the moment. Very comfortable, has lasted so far 3 years. I like how its modular so you can switch it up. Also if you ever want to add more seats its easy. They also just released some recliner seats so thinking about swapping out some seats for recliners, just need to test it at the showroom. They always have deals and biggest discount is in the showroom. But I've seen discount at 30% during sales which is like the minimum of 25% discount. Don't pay full price!

  A sleeper sofa that’s actually comfortable?

  We have a giant Lovesac sectional. The kids love to do sleepover on it with friends because I can make it up into a big bed for up to 3 kids. Personally, I find it a little stiff when I sleep on it; and yeah, the cracks are noticeable. I did have a friend visit and I put a 3" latex topper on it and they said it felt like a real bed, but that was a lot of effort. I wouldn't sleep on a Lovesac couch by itself. On the plus side if you configure it with the seats set deep there is a generous amount of space on the couch like you're sleeping on a wide twin.

  Unpopular Opinion: "BIFL" as an excuse for overspending

  I both fully agree and disagree. First I'm going to buy all clothing second hand. Giving an item a new life feels more responsible than a new item. With that said there have been things on this sub that I have used. We bought the lovesack furniture on recommendation of this sub and I'm so glad we did. Also I have bought things for my husband who does wear things for decades. Only replaces things when I force him because it's past prime. For myself I'm not going to be buying things for life. I wont like things for that long.

  Have you considered LoveSac? The ability to reconfigure from sofa/ottomans to bed is great. Costco sometimes has a great deal if you're not picky about the covers. But you can also get from the store/online and choose exactly the covers that fit your color scheme/lifestyle.

  Seconding LoveSac. Reconfigured for overnight guests over a year ago, and it stayed that way because it's so comfortable for a nap or movie. The covers are removable so you can change if you want a new look and machine washable. Regret not getting the storage ottomans to keep the guest bedding in (I think LoveSac even sells a kit for that purpose). A friend of mine bought the set at Costco and put a twin mattress protector and sheet to protect from kids/pets (in sofa mode).

  Have you looked into LoveSac sactionals? We love ours. When we got Covid we reconfigured it to a bed and just stayed in the living room watching TV for a week. We have the corded velvet (I think) and it’s super pet friendly. Everything gets vacuumed easily. I like that the back cushions have baffles as we tend to lean on the top of ours, so it keeps its shape easily.
