Aeropress, https://aeropress.com/ You just pop out the old filter and the grounds come out at the same time, rinse it for a second then it’s done.  I’ve recently been diagnosed with adhd (not on meds yet but planning to), and I like how easy this option is and it doesn’t matter if you pop out the filter/used grounds the next morning instead of right after use. Because I won’t do it regularly right after use.  2. Cone with filter, https://shop.melitta.ca/collections/pour-over Almost as easy as aeropress, except you remove the cone filter out of it.   In retrospect this would be better for me personally because - almost as easy as aeropress - can make more than one cup if I want, or fill a bigger cup

  Looking for a coffee machine that lasts forever

  I will probably getting downvoted to smithereens, but as a coffee nerd, I’m actually not that keen on the moccamaster! 😬🫣 I agree that it IS leaps and bounds better than most machines, but I do have issues with it! It’s doesn’t allow for a pause once the grounds are saturated (bloom). And the water does come out from a few spots, but in more of a central line so that some of the coffee in the center is over extracted and the coffee on the outside rims is very underextracted. Again it is way better than most! But for a machine that caters to coffee people, I feel like these things are quite important! You can get around them if you attend to the machine while brewing, but that takes away the purpose of a machine. Otherwise, you can just invest the time in pour over… it is a solid choice, but I’m currently eying the Melitta E-pour which is in a similar price category.. It is a relatively newer design, so I’m not sure how it holds the test of time… :/

  Looking for a coffee machine that lasts forever

  I use a Melitta pourover ($20) a Kettle ($35) and a insulated Bunn pot/container we were given for free. year 15 with zero issues - I'm sure it would last 100+ years - and I find the coffee way better than machine made, as the coffee isn't being heated after creation

  I grind fresh beans with a Melitta burr grinder and use a £3.95 1x4 Melitta poor over filter straight into a pre warmed thermos from IKEA .

  I've got a Melitta drip machine with a thermal caraffe and a timer. Its been making three caraffes a day for 5 years now with no issues. About £100. I also have their burr grinder with in built scales. A game changer. Just set the grammes you want and hit the ho button. Much better than a timer on a grinder. Its no good for espresso apparently as it doesn't go quite fine enough but plenty of adjustments for any other kind of coffee. Again about £100.

  What's one kitchen appliance you've owned for 10+ years that still works perfectly?

  Vintage Melitta Gevalia one-button drip coffee maker, thrifted. Vintage 70s two-setting crockpot, yard sale. I have had both for close to 20 years and they were old and used when I acquired them.

  Tiny coffee gadgets that make a big difference?

  The very simple pour overs (hario, malita, etc etc) are all things that would last until you broke them. I have had two hario v60s over the past 16 years. One’s handle broke because I dropped it in the sink but after sanding the sharp edge (after cutting myself on it) it still *works*, just annoying. The thing I got recently that I love is a small scale meant for small measurements. Overloads at 500g. Great for getting quick, accurate measurements of tiny things. I have a BIFL bigger scale I use when I need like, 800g of flour, but for everything else I just use the little guy. And of course shout out to the aeropress. I could see maybe eventually needing to replace the plunger part? Maybe? I feel like the coffee world is (thankfully) chock full of durable, very-long-lasting, quality stuff and it isn’t always even expensive.

  Electric Kettle with Plastic-Free internals?

  My latest electric kettle lasted less than two years, so I decided to try something different. I’m now using a ceramic over steel stove top tea kettle on a small countertop induction cooker. It heats the water incredibly fast. In conjunction with a Melitta ceramic carafe and filter cone, I’m enjoying plastic-free coffee within minutes every morning.

  Been using a version of a Melitta pour-over for over 25 years of strong dark french roasts. Recently bought an electric kettle and this is the system we'll die using.   What home coffee essentials have held up and lasted you over time?

  The Melitta cone. I still have the Melitta plastic cone I got in college in the 80s, when we weren’t allowed to have coffeemakers in the dorm. I rarely use it anymore, but it used to be great when the power went out, back when I had a gas stove to heat the water.

  What home coffee essentials have held up and lasted you over time?

  Bodum French press. The regular glass ones. I have two of them in different sizes they’re probably 15-20 years old. They don’t get much use these days because cleanup sucks when you don’t have a garbage disposal. Melitta pourover. I’ve had it since about 2009-2010. It cost less than $4 at the time and and still gets some use. It takes #2 filters that can be found in most supermarkets. Some people won’t like that it’s plastic. Capresso Infinity burr grinder. It’s over 10 years old at this point and still gets used 3-4x per week. Some would argue that it doesn’t grind fine enough for espresso but it does what I need it to do. Aeropress. Pretty much my daily driver lately. Again, some people won’t like that it’s plastic. Bialetti moka pot. I’ve had it for over five years and to be honest I don’t use it much because it’s too big for just myself. I’m sure other brands are as good, but replacement gaskets are easy to find online. Zojirushi thermos. Doesn’t leak and will keep your coffee hot all day long. It’s kind of annoying to drink directly from as vapor collects on the flip-top lid and might drip onto you.

  I don't have a fancy ceramic pour over but bought a Melitta pour over. Looked at a Moccamaster for a while but just couldn't justify losing more countertop space and I really wouldn't know as I am not a coffee super snob. Just like a tasty cup of joe with caffeine in it.
