  Microtech Ultratech. A true BIFL knife.

  I dunno 🤷🏾 I love them. Are they the most practical knives I own? No. Are they the most fun knives I own? Yes, for sure. They're well-made, and if you keep up with maintenance on them, they're BIFL. Some people don't like enjoying things, I guess.

  They’re more than capable of being used to baton wood. https://youtu.be/32JOrqtpyls?feature=shared And if you did manage to snap one you have the option of getting a replacement blade through Microtech. If you snap your fixed blade you’re going to most likely have to buy a whole new knife.

  Microtech Ultratech. A true BIFL knife.

  The fact that the springs, blades, etc. can be replaced is precisely what makes it bifl. What happens if your fixed blade snaps while batoning wood? It’s done for. The opening up of the knife and voiding the warranty doesn’t apply as long as you don’t strip the screws or mess it up in some way that requires the manufacturer to fix it.
