$2K Amazon Budget—Help Me Turn Digital Money Into Sawdust
I'm normally a milwuakee guy but makita makes good saws. Don't get too hung up on the batteries though, I like the milwuakee m12 form factor the 1/4 in driver and 1/2 inch percussion drill bang hard with the 2.5ah high discharge battery. Even driving into concrete slabs I use the 1/4". For drilling pilot I get out the M18 SDS. The milwuakee m12 mini circular saw I'm still trying to get my hands on always seems to be out of stock.

Milwaukee dual line. You can get a bunch of different attachments like a steel blade for clearing heavy brush, a mini chainsaw for pruning, or a small rototiller head. It’s really smart to choose a quality brand and then buy all your electric tools from that brand. The batteries and chargers are interchangeable so you always have back ups. We’ve been really happy with the Milwaukee quality.

I’ve always been a Makita guy without knowing anything about the corporate side. My tools always just felt more solid and durable than coworkers’ Dewalt or Milwaukee. Then I saw this in r/construction.
Same. Their M12 line offers such amazing power for its size & weight, and their M12 Fuel is even crazier. Probably more than I will ever need as a home user/DIY, but it truly is a solid product. Plus you can easily leverage the 'hack' to get tool only deals as a reasonable price.
