  Used Subzero - still tons of life left

  Subzero is a great buy but I am so confused by the "easily had another decade" part. I have a Mitsubishi fridge from 2007 and it's fine. Never done a thing to it.

  What are some actual BIFL kitchen items?

  Finex makes a pricy but good pan. Mitsubishi one slice. Panasonic rice cooker straight form yamada denki in japan. Sounds like 600$ but you might die before it. Havalon talon. The more kitchen knife blade. Soft but easy to sharpen. Seattle ultrasonic is making a vibrablade.

  Sandwich maker that’s not nonstick

  Mitsubishi one slice. Use aluminium foil on it. It will outlive you. Not traditional non stick. But functional non stick. Also makes alien food and gremlin food. Japanese wizard stuff.

  Brands That Used to Be BIFL — But Aren't Anymore?

  I’m shopping for a car. I won’t be ready to trade for about another 2 months but I’ve started looking. Last weekend I made an appointment to go to the Enterprise lot and see what they had. I saw a VW Tiguan on the lot and asked about it. The very helpful guy said that VWs quality has really declined in the last couple of years and he doesn’t really recommend them anymore because they’re not as dependable as they used to be. So I’ve narrowed it down to Honda, Nissan, or Mitsubishi.

  My mom’s 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer that she gave me in 2010 as my first car, which I then gave to my cousin in 2017 as his first car, and he gave to his younger sister in 2020 as her first car.

  Ever Bought Something That Quietly Changed You?

  This is going to sound incredibly stupid (and nowhere near as life changing as hearing aids) but… this Mitsubishi KH-20 pencil sharpener.  It’s legit the best pencil sharpener I’ve ever owned. Turns every $.02 pencil into a precision drafting tool.  For years I thought they were just making pencils crappier and crappier, but no, turns out it was my sharpener that sucked.   And it only costs like $20

  They are called ductless air conditioners 12,000 BTU costs a bit more than that. I just ordered a 9000 BTU brand name mitsubshi for $2000. It's an older model but the SEER2 is decent. $1300 for the machine, $700 for the install.   What is a pen that you have bought for life and you actually use it everyday and it is your first go-to, as if it’s become an extension of your arm and you feel connected with the page?

  To your point - the space pens rock…. A “disposable” option with the same capability is the Mitsubishi Power Tank, they are not the smoothest but perform on sweaty / oily / upside down, though the barrels have a grip section that breaks down given time when exposed to oil. They are available as a cartridge too, but the space pen is nicer writing if going that way

  If you are amazed by small TRUCKS, imagine the possibilities of small CARS like a Fiat Panda, Renault Clio, VW Polo, Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 108, Fiat 500, Ford Focus, Chevrolet Spark, Mitsubishi Space Star, Hyundai i10, r/fitinafit It is proven (sorry, no sauce, look it up yourself) that trucks have less usable space than smaller cars.

  Bosch, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Viessman. These are the 4 that we recommend the most between HPs and a boilers. For hot water - HPs - the new Bosch is cool and Rheem is good. Or just go for a combi from makers above

  Best brand for furnaces and water heaters.

  I'm a commercial/industrial HVAC service tech. I fix machines, and install the occasional RTU or unit heater on warehouses generally. I've had pretty good luck with Rheem if you want a standard gas furnace, otherwise Mitsubishi is kinda king when it comes to heat pumps, though they're definitely not cheap. Regardless, the easiest way to keep them running for a very long time is to change your filters every 6 months if not once a quarter, and if you're comfortable with it, set your thermostat to have the fan run continuously. The energy spike on startup is what tends to stress the electronics, and that amp draw can actually cost more if it's turning on and off constantly. But yeah, most furnaces will do at least okay with routine filter swaps and some actual mantainence every so often. If you can't find a good company to do the work, call a commercial HVAC outfit in your area and ask for a recommendation. If they're decent people, they'll tell you who to call and who to avoid

  Unpopular opinion: AliExpress is great ... for some products, like simple metal items.

  If you want a better writing pen, you need a step up from the very basic bic and free ballpoint pens you get everywhere. Many people find they have a much better writing experience using a rollerball gel pen. Still a disposable pen, no extra hassle with filling inks and cartridges, but a much smoother writing experience. (Some are refillable but it depends on the model.) The downside is that they aren’t quite as cheap as ballpoint pens. There are loads of options and r/pens is full of them. My personal favorite is the Mitsubishi Uni-Ball Eye.

  Not tee bag. I would have gone with a Panasonic bistro line rice cooker from Japan- from like yamada denki. You are missing out on the 3... 5.... you know a Panasonic all in one microwave. It is a microwave. It is an oven. It is a toaster. It is a broiler. It is a steamer. Bistro line. The one with the touch screen. Yamada denki. Mitsubishi one slice toaster. Get it.

  > That approach backfired on GE back in the day. They were competing against Rolls Royce for a lucrative contract for jet engines. The guy in charge of deciding had a GE toaster that was absolute garbage. The contract went to Rolls Royce. I think it had a part in GE getting out of the home appliance for awhile. The problem was GE having a rubbish toaster. If GE had pride in their brand to make a quality product, maybe history will be different. And yes Mitsubishi makes an excellent toaster too!

  A lot of the Asian companies expanded in similar fashion. Mitsubishi - cars, computers, jets, canned food, the Mitsubishi Group cover it all. Take Samsung as another example. Not just phones and washing machines. They do insurance, ships, construction, theme parks and a hell of a lot more.
