I switched to Mous, Spigen or Peak Design for personal use and have been very happy. I also like that some of them provide options for magsafe on Android platforms as I'm very happy having access to that ecosystem.

I switched to a mous case 4 or 5 phones ago. Never cracked a screen yet. I do use a screen protector. I stopped with the OtterBox because I lied down on the floor with it in my pocket and the side must have squished down and my phone was scratched. A minor flaw but mous side are more rigid.

Durable phone case including protection for screen and camera lens
Pixels are tough phones as is, so if you don't want something bulky one of the slimmer mous ones will last you well. Having mag safe is great too.
