What was the BIFL upgrade that instantly exposed all your cheap versions?
I bought some toenail clippers made by Mundial many years ago as I used to do my moms pedicures. My mom died on 9/11/2001 and they are still going strong. I have since used them on my eldest sisters feet when she was hospitalized and on my best friend when she was housebound and recovering after being hospitalized with covid.

We use our bread knife regularly also, and as earlier stated every knife in the mundial set including the useful scissors. I remain of the belief that if you have no quality knives, a set is at more cost effective way to get started. Once you have some I'd agree you are better off upgrading the specific knives you find lacking.

I don't understand the advice not to buy a set. I have a mundial (?) set and use all items regularly. The weight and balance is great. Edge retention is average, but I can sharpen them again myself. I agree that buying a high quality knife for a specific and frequent task makes sense, but if you don't have a set of good knives buy a set first.

Try the online stores of [Peters of Kensington](http://www.petersofkensington.com.au/Public/Default.aspx) or [Everten Online](http://www.everten.com.au/). I've bought Mundial knives from both of those sites (I generally go for what is cheaper at that particular time.
