What have you used the most at home these two years?
I use the $80 Nutribullet every day for my morning shake. Vitamix may be better for frequent use of ice and tougher ingredients, but this thing is everything I need. The motor is powerful enough, and it's relatively quiet.

My wife used a Nutribullet for many years, grinding ice and fruit every morning. It's not a classic BIFL brand, but it did well for a decade plus.

Vitamix. But my Nutribullet is also going strong after 4 years and i use it alot more than the Vitmix bc it's smaller. Tip is NOT to overfill and make things in batches. that said, I have an Osterizer blender from the late 60s/early 70s in lovely avocado green that still works just fine, won't crush ice as well as the newer high-speed blenders however.

A Vitamix is way overkill for someone who is primarily making smoothies. A Nutribullet is way cheaper, way more compact on the countertop, quieter, and as it's purpose-built for making smoothies, blends small batches quicker and better with less clean-up than a Vitamix.

Should i return nutribullet ultra?
I bought my nutribullet pro (yeah, different model but anyways) because my gym was using it to make and sell protein shakes and smoothies. I asked them how frequently they change blades and they never did it for over a year and it works just fine even with their heavy usage for dozens of drinks daily.

BIFL: Food processors. Which ones actually do what they promise to do?
the trick is finding ones that have the motor strength to handle different textures without slowing down. otherwise you end up back with a knife and cutting board wondering why you spent the money. so I made a little list of ones that actually seem to hold up: cuisinart 7 cup pro classic: not overloaded with gimmicks, but it’s got the wattage and blade design to handle both fine slicing and heavier dough work without sounding like it’s dying. bowl plastic can feel brittle over time and capacity might feel small if you’re doing big weekly prep in one go. ninja professional xl: motor is a tank, which matters if you want to go from onions to dense dough without switching appliances. reversible shredding disc is actually useful if you want fine shreds without swapping machines. size is bulky and takes up a lot of counter space. nutribullet triple prep system: a bit different since it’s built to handle blending and processing on the same base, but the food processor attachment’s got the right discs for slicing, shredding, and chopping, plus a decent sized work bowl. food pusher design can make it awkward to feed longer veggies like carrots in one piece. the real thing is making sure whatever you pick can keep its edge and motor strength after months of use. hope it helps

Vitamix is definitely the best, but if you're on a tight budget then id recommend the nutribullet full size blender. You can get one for less than $100 and its powerful enough to handle most types of usage

Nutribullet is my holy grail 💕. I'm able to make tasty protein shakes in a minute. Sometimes I'll use milk, banana, chocolate protein powder and frozen blueberries. 100% nutritious. Other times, I'll throw some frozen spinach in there to make it healthier.

Looks like the Nutribullet Rx fits the bill with a 1700w motor has a 40oz cup, and is designed to be able to heat soups, which would suggest it's okay to run longer. Looking for a powerful cup blender (min. 900ml and min. 1000watt) that can run longer without overheating – any recommendations?
We went through several Ninjas before switching to a Nutribullet NBR-0601. “Only” 600 watts and 24oz capacity but it works very well on (frozen) berries, beets, and kale. I bought the current one 12/26/22 and it’s still going strong. I don’t really see the use case for a 1200 watt inverted drink blender, does anyone even manufacture that?
