Leather jacket cleaning + conditioning advice
If this was brought to me for care, I would clean with saddle soap or Dr Bronners with a soft brush, let it dry, then apply conditioner. I like Huberds shoe grease or obenaufs. A little goes a long way. Rub it in like you would lotion. You don’t want a bunch of excess sitting on top of the leather you just want it moisturized. Concentrate on the areas that look like paint. Usually the conditioner will get between the paint and leather and you can scrape the paint right off with a fingernail. The conditioner will darken the leather some which is normal.

Need help, dog damaged leather ottoman.
I had this happen! I inherited a beautiful antique leather couch from a relative who passed and the first thing the dog did was attempt to scratch a cozy little place to sleep ugh. I used Obenauf’s Learher oil. Made in Idaho it says. I was amazed at what an amazing job this stuff did! I was worried at first and it took a few days for the color to settle (it looked dark at first) but the scratches are very subtle now-You have to know you’re looking for them.

Looking for the best Leather boot Laces that will stay tied?
Leather laces have a tendency to not stay tied well. Waxed cotton are better in most ways. I like Obenauf's and Viberg laces

Really got humbled today about buying some quality leather care
I’ve used [Saphir Canadian](https://saphir.com/products/canadian) on a 60s-era Bonnie Cashin leather turnlock coat with great results. But that’s a finer leather that had some need for color restoration. Look into the lighter version of [Obenauf’s oil](https://www.obenaufs.com/natural-preserving-oils-p/leather-oil.htm) for this. Don’t start with their famed LP oil—just the regular one. You can work it into the leather with your hands or a soft, non-fraying cloth. But it’s got beeswax in it, so frankly, you’ll find getting it on your hands quite lovely and moisturizing. I’ve used it on a more rough-and-tumble Vanson jacket of my husband’s, some leather exterior shearling boots and a Knoll Wassily chair. When you do a jacket, you may find that it’ll easily drink up a couple of applications, so let it hang out overnight each time you do it.

For work boots, Hubers shoe grease is great for pacific northwest wet seasons. Obenhaufs boot grease for warmer summer months. Obenhaufs breaths better while Hubers keeps more moisture out. I use both.
