  I love my waffle towels from Onsen https://onsentowel.com/products/supima-waffle-bath-sheet. They absorb water from your skin instantly and dry faster than any other towels ive had. They make good house warming gifts too. Sometimes you can find them on sale on Huckberry site.

  I’ve had my Onsen sheets for years too and they get more absorbent with each wash. I suspect that eventually I’ll be able to stand close to it and get dry.

  Anyone have experience with Onsen Towels?

  I took the plunge thanks to the reviews from Wirecutter. My towels were delivered and so far seem very nice. However I do want to chime in and echo a previous poster's concerns regarding their customer service. Two days after my purchase, which was during their Black Friday sale, my towels were further discounted and there was a free gift offered with minimum purchase that I would have qualified for. Obviously if I had any idea I could have gotten a better price I would have waited those couple of days. I understand they may not be able to just ship out the free gift, but I feel they should at least credit me for the price difference. They do not have a phone number so you're limited to email. I contacted them multiple times over the past week and they have simply not responded. If they're understaffed during the holidays then perhaps they simply need to hire more seasonal help. The very essence of customer service is to be responsive so this is definitely not acceptable and not inspiring me to become a repeat customer.

  Lightweight Towels that Hold Up

  I’ve tried Brooklinen, one other?, and the og Onsen towels that sorta popularized the waffle trend. And the onsens consistently hold up way better in the wash than other brands.

  Hello! I'm Annemarie Conte, an editor at Wirecutter, and I definitely think you should try waffle-weave towels. Our pick is Onsen, which run about $45 apiece and are truly wonderful, but the Target Casaluna are also really nicely made and only about $11 each. (Target's textiles generally punch above their weight.) They are definitely "scratchier" than plush towels, so will be different from what you're used to. If you want to touch them in person, Macy's carries Onsen and obviously Target is Target. I recently tested the Quince version for an article (with the help of Jackie Reeve, our powerhouse textiles reviewer) and they were okay, but I'd definitely consider Target or Onsen over them. Overall, though, any towel is going to have an issue when it comes into contact with a sharp object, whether it's your cat's nails or your own nails, earrings, etc. (I was surprised but also not surprised at how much our textiles experts think about nails!). So that's definitely something to keep in mind.

  Brand recommendations for a blanket for bed in place of a duvet?

  Small bathroom, not great venting, needed something that dries quick: Onsen brand (and similar styles) towels. Though we’ve tried other brands of similar towels and Onsen still held up better.
