Anyone using a countertop ice maker that's actually good?
Get an Opal at Costco and use distilled water. We bought a water distiller for this, cpap, and humidifier. Otherwise our first Opal died even with cleaning.

What is the best ice maker machine to buy?
Maintenance isn't too bad. As long as you run the cleaning cycle and wipe it down once in a while, the Opal nugget ice maker stays in good shape. I've seen cheaper countertop ice makers die after a year, but this one's held up.

What is the best ice maker machine to buy?
If you're mainly after daily use and don't care about fancy features the euhomy nugget ice maker is a solid pick. But the Opal just feels a bit more reliable long term. The silonn is fine too, but it's more of a budget portable ice maker for light use.

What is the best ice maker machine to buy?
Depends on so many circumstances. We use the Opal with extra tank. Works well so far, I issues about 2 years in, but we keep it maintained pretty well. We got a fridge that makes ice balls for larger. What kind of ice do you want? How many pounds per day? You may be better off getting a fridge with a secondary ice maker.

Fridge ice makers kinda suck for volume unless you go high-end. Standalone nugget ice makers (like GE Profile or Opal) are way better if your fam’s burning through ice. Just clean them every few weeks and you’re it'll last longer 👌

Any countertop ice maker that doesn’t turn moldy or break after a year?
I have an Opal. You empty it, add a little bit of bleach and several cups of water, then run the cleaning cycle, which circulates the bleach water through the machine. Then you run two more cycles without the bleach.

Any countertop ice maker that doesn’t turn moldy or break after a year?
We have the opal, with extra tank. Lasted 2.years so far. But, if you want "easy" then these are not for you. Gets a deep clean every 2 weeks. We go through ice a lot, and this is on top of the freezer with 2 ice makers (the nuggets and the bigger spheres). The opal is the go to for water, and I used the larger cubes. We go through about a full tank a day.
