Merino wool base layers - which are the most durable?
Outlier makes really good merino wool shirts. They’re expensive but they are durable.

Ridge Merino or Wool & Prince for Merinofication of Wardrobe?
It's crazy to think its been 3 years since this! This comment actually holds up well. My favorite merino boxer brief is still probably Ridge (or maybe Ibex's Woolies if you don't mind paying for the nicest material). Ridge has held up remarkably well in comparison to other merino brands; no waistband bacon effect, no holes, little to no fading of the dye, retains its shape while being comfortable. I still have W&P pairs in rotation; the oldest pairs have since been retired due to either waistband bacon effect, major loss of dye or maybe a minor hole. I think I probably got like...\~4 solid years out of the oldest pairs? Other merino boxer briefs that I'd recommend would be: Triple Aught Design's Commando (I find their tacti-cool vibe to be a bit cringe, but their merino products have served me fairly well). For t-shirts, I've got a bunch, but of the currently available options I'd recommend Outlier (any merino option; I have their UFT, Daybreak, Dreamweight, Sportweight, etc.) first as the top option. I also enjoy Wool & Prince's t-shirts, though their normal crewnecks will eventually start to have the dye fade in high use areas. W&P's heavier interlock t-shirts (and sweatshirt) have so impressed me over the years that I'm considering getting more of the material for the colder months. Merino is often criticized for being delicate \[in comparison to other hardier materials at least\], but I've found that the heavier / thicker interlock material is resilient and basically hasn't aged much over the few years that I've owned it.

What "Nice" T-Shirt(s) Would You Recommend?
Pima cotton is nice Some merino wools are very comfortable against your skin I have some nice Asket cotton ones. in the other category, i like Outlier (which is kinda expensive) and... believe it or not Merino Tech, which is selling quite inexpensively at amazon. depending on whether there is a sale, u might get em cheaper from the manufacturer's website.

What kind of jeans will last forever and have really good quality?
Outlier slim dungaree is the only answer to that question. Grit is the enemy of textiles and denim is not a smooth material, therefore you’ll end up having holes no matter what.

What are some BIFL wool clothing brands, especially those that have wool summer clothing (if such thing exists)?
As most manufacturers use merino, BIFL is tricky. Merino is fantastic, but it’s just not as tough. Wool in general is magical. If you plan to use it in non-contact ways in summer, ie every day wear, road running, some sports like tennis or pickleball(gross) it’s great. But if you’re like me, I hike a ton and get outdoors where brambles, rocks etc, will shred merino quick. My recommend is organic cotton hemp and linen in summer. Vintage stuff from eBay goes a long way. Patagonia, Mammut, some La sportiva, and outlier from eBay, will cover your basis nicely on those fronts. As far as winter wear goes, Icelandic wool and Shetland get you pretty close to BIFL. Some of my Icelandic sweaters are from eBay, likely manufactured in the early 90’s or 80’s but still feel practically new. Those wools will hold up well. Basically the thicker the wool strand, the closer to BIFL.

Minimalist Wardrobe for Men
r/OutlierMarket has Outlier often below MSRP. Outlier was one of the first techwear brands—normal looking clothes made from advanced fabrics. I’d start there.

Long Lasting Jeans for Mechanic
You might want to try some hard wearing synthetics instead of denim. They’re priced higher but something like [Outlier’s bombtwill](https://outlier.nyc/products/bombtwill-looseleans) can basically withstand several times the amount of wear and tear that most denim can, as long as you’re okay with slightly less stretch in the fabric

Options (Articles of Clothing) When Layering For Cold/Windy Weather?
Outlier and Dale of Norway are the only two of sufficiently high quality I would recommend. I also really like Son of a Tailor and Wool&Prince but they are not quite as high quality as the first two.
