They're popular choices though, the point is most people buying them would be better served by copper long-term. Even with a $20 nonstick pan, and even assuming the max 3-year replacement cycle, you could easily be paying less in the long run for better performance with BIFL copper. The P-TAL 8.5" frying pan would be $70, and give you 20+ years before you need to spend $100 on retinning. With cheap nonstick, you will have spent about $140-200 filling landfills with frying pans by the 20 year mark.
