Pampered Chef is probably one of the least bad MLMs. The upfront cost starts at like $20 and there's no inventory requirement, everyone just buys through the company. Although you do have to maintain $150/month in sales to get paid which is probably difficult when the neighborhood gets saturated. I own a good number of their products given as gifts, they are good quality but they do have a lot of gimmicky stuff that no serious home chef would bother with.

I hate that Pampered Chef is an MLM… I have a few products that are absolutely top tier. I have a couple stoneware pans that I use almost daily for about 15 years. The cookie scoops are WAY better than any other brands I’ve tried.

My mom held Tupperware Parties twice a year and invited people to our house. I have so many random weird Tupperware branded things in my possession because of it. She later went on to do Pampered Chef parties. I think mom was involved in every 80s and 90s era MLM at some point...

Honest question, what's with the hate for MLM? It's everyday people trying to sell a quality product (in regards to Tupperware, Pampered Chef maybe) and they're just trying to make a buck. Usually friends/family too. I don't get the hate for that

What newer Pampered Chef items have you found to be BIFL quality?
I am a little late adding to this thread but this has been my experience. When PC started it was a family owned and american made company. They were sold to Berkshire Hathaway and has slowly turned in to not so great items. I grew up on PC because my mom and a few of her friends used to sell it. Their warranty was amazing and lasted forever. So did their products. Now? Their cookware is not that good and they have changed a lot of how things are made so they aren't great. Their stoneware? Love it. Their coated knives? Not worth it, I suggest Cutco, they are amazing for cutlery. Sadly they have changed so much my family doesn't order a whole bunch from them anymore.

Something you didn’t expect to be BIFL but outlasted your expectations?
I’m still using most of the kitchen items I bought in the 90s. A LOT of it is Pampered Chef. I’m still using my Pfaltzgraff dishes I got for my wedding in 89. Appliances, linens, and electronics all wear out but my Tupperware and Pampered Chef stuff still works really well.

The Pampered Chef Pizza Stones- Just realized mine is over 30 years old.
Get a good piece of steel wool or a blackstone scraper and baking soda; scrape off the seasoning layer until you’re satisfied with the level of the stone.Heat up the stone in the oven to about 200 and then scrape it down. If it’s realllly thick and difficult to remove I would recommend letting the stone cook in the oven at about 500 for 2-3 hours and then redo the process when the stone is still hot but able to be put in the sink. DO NOT put any cold or even lukewarm water near your stone while it’s that hot or it will crack/shatter. LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES!

What’s something you’ve bought once and never had to replace?
All from Pampered Chef circa 2000 & still going strong. It's unreal. Wet/dry adjustable measuring cup Batter bowl w/ lid Pizza Stone Offset spatulas All 25 years old and going strong. I detest MLMs but this stuff is legit. Or or was anyway, never had to replace any of it so cannot vouch for present day quality. Also Lenox China, specifically the Butterfly Meadow Cloud pattern. Purchased around we 2001. Daily use. Incredibly durable, remains beautiful.

Right? I went back to my pampered chef one. So much garlic would get left behind in the squish with this one. The only reason we got it was because we lost the little clean out attachment dohicky for the pampered chef one - but even with the cleaning hassle, the PC one gets far better leverage and squishes the whole thing through.

Super small, but I bought a dish scraper from Pampered Chef, it cost like $5 and makes cleaning pots and pans so much easier. Even though it’s plastic, my mum’s had the same one for like 30 years so I think it qualifies as BIFL

The pampered chef kitchen scissors. I think I’ve had them for 20 years. They wash in the dishwasher, never have rusted, stay sharp and safe. My kid even has used them for art projects and tons of other stuff they’re not meant for but they always clean up perfectly and still work for food. 10/10 would buy again (but hopefully never have to cuz I have no idea if they still make them).

A pizza stone. I cook everything on it. My brand is Pampered Chef and I KNOW, I KNOW, MLM. But it's 25 years old, going strong. Same brand: a wet/dry measuring cup. So easy to measure peanut butter, honey, molasses, mayonnaise, etc etc. And again, 25 years of almost daily use and cleaning in the dishwasher. Still going strong.

Got it as a gift. But it is not BIFL. Mine is die cast metal, probably a zinc alloy just like yours was. That is why yours broke.

What is your most unintentional BIFL item?
Random box full of wooden backscratchers that was buried in my grandmothers basement for at least 30years, found them in 2009 when she passed. We have them scattered around each of our houses and use them not only as scratchers, but also as extend your reach tools for grabbing things that have gone under furniture and such. They’re sturdy as hell and will definitely outlive me. She also had an old kitchenaid stand mixer from the 1960s that finally gave up the ghost back in 2010 ish after a marathon fudge making session 😂 I’m in LOOOOVE with Texas ware plastic bowls. My favorite, was my granny’s and purchased sometime in the 60s (go figure right lol). It’s ugly as sin but in perfect shape. So far they’re the only bowls I’ve ever found to have a completely smooth inside, so you don’t have to worry about things getting stuck in the lip that’s around the bottom of most mixing bowls. No cakes with random unmixed dry ingredients just chillin at the bottom. They come in all different sizes and colors and I usually find them on eBay or in thrift stores. The Tupperware canisters that mom and I both use for flour/sugar/etc were also granny’s and purchased sometime in the 60’s-70’s. They still seal perfectly. Flannel mens long night shirt that was bought as a gag gift for my grandfather in the 70s, I have it now. Several Pew pews that are older than I am, still in excellent condition. Calphalon pots and pans purchased in 2010, still in perfect shape after being used pretty much daily since. Solid slate top pool table purchased in the 50’s that’s still in excellent shape and has had 4 generations of our family and friends shooting pool on it. Otherwise we have a bunch of things that are older than I am (35) or that were purchased during the first 10-15 years of my life, that are still used all the time: freebie plastic kids cups from various restaurants that are still alive and kickin, some of the thicker plastic collectible cups from McDonald’s and Burger King, ceramic Campbells soup bowls, plastic paper-plate holders, an awesome mini fridge that finally stopped working last year - going to see if it can be fixed, old navy workout pants/leggings from 20ish years ago that are perfect aside from some bleach stains acquired during cleaning the house, 50+ year old well loved moka pot that was passed on to me, 20ish year old pampered chef self warming ice cream scoop, ottlite lamps in different sizes used daily over the last 15 years never changed a single bulb, I use an old pair of firefighting gloves for oven mitts - I wore them for my first 2-3 years while firefighting (06-08 ish) before I got a new pair and these were retired to my kitchen as they’re still in perfect condition, the bedsheets that every kid had in the 90s with 101 Dalmatians and lion king print, a king sized feather bed/comforter purchased in the 90s and used daily since. We’ve had a bunch of great things purchased over the years that have lasted WAY longer than we expected them to. My hubby is still somewhat surprised when I pull out random things in great shape, that he’s never seen and I tell him they were my grandmothers when she bought her first house. I furnished my first house with so many different things of hers, especially kitchenware and furniture, and they’ve held up perfectly, so why spend the money to buy new ones 🤷🏼♀️

Surprisingly… every single item I have from Pampered Chef. I joined way back in Ye Olden Days before MLMs became such a huge thing to stay away from. I bought one of the starter kits. I didn’t last long as a “consultant” or whatever they call the people that do parties, but to this day I still have and use almost everything I got from that and it’s still going strong - almost 2 decades later.

This is it. I have the one my mom got when I was in HS, so it's effectively at least 15 years old. People at work look at me like I'm crazy though, since I can't use normal can openers--i never learned how to use a not-Pampered Chef opener 🙃
